Old cars do not necessarily cost a lot to maintain, many can be run on a shoe string. Cars that have been tuned to give far more power than they had when they left the factory cost a lot to maintain...

My friend used to have a Cosworth and it was exactly the same thing.
Something was always going wrong!
He also spent thousands on it!

I do all my own work but after rebuilds, softening alloy heads, cracked heads! bent valves etc, I called it a day. Still love them and well done for sticking with it.
Yes the do cost a fortune to run, but for supercar performance from a Sierra, it's often worth it. Thing is, the car will probably be worth the same or more than purchase price when you come to sell it.
I now own my first non-Ford; an M3, 3 years of reliable power, not got the bite ofthe Cossie, but doesn't bite my wallet either.

why would you want 400+bhp if you're not doing it all the time?
i'd be going through gearboxes on a weekly basis if it were mine.

There is no boost/charge on the exhaust side, the boost is generated on the cold side of the turbo.

There is quite a large amount of pressure pre turbine as it's a massive restriction.
which is generated by the turbine on the exhaust.

I don't know about you, but i would prefere a legendary car that would give you the biggest grin in the world when hammering it down a country lane or race track when it worked.

'Boost' is nothing more than an indication of a restriction in flow. The turbine restricts exhaust flow and shows 'boost'.
