Do NOT buy from G2Play!

Well what do you know...

"Recently we have aquired Call of Duty MW2 keys from a supplier who showed up to get them in unlegitimate way."

Even G2Play have now admitted these banned keys were sourced in a non legitimate manner. Though obviously they must be mistaken as such an idea is ludicrous and absurd of course, no such practices occur at all, it's just Activision being greedy. ;)

If they did, this next reply will give you a field day:

Second Email from G2Play said:
ok you must wait for this refund about 48hours

br

I guess when the emails get personal, they spend less time on formatting and making sense huh...

Who the hell cares tbh, they say they will give you your money back in about 48 hours, who cares that they don't want to waste their time making it look like proper english... As long as you understand it.

Purchased Shift for £16 through G2play, great price, very happy.

As I have read in this thread, I suspected they were involved in "BloodBowl-gate." Shame, as I would love to try out a different genre of game from my norm without spending "silly money." They have the original priced at £17, but its not Steam compatable and the Dark Elves Edition is advertised for pre-purchase on Steam.

So my key must've have been a legitimate source because my key from them for MW2 still remains unbanned.

And no. The rainforest site uses a tentative law regarding Tax to ship goods from a UK region of distribution that is exempt from the same taxes applied to the rest of the UK. It is not the same as shipping from a region that is supplied at a lower wholesale price..
They can only ship goods up to the value of £18 (inc the postage cost) TAX free to the mainland UK.....

As I said - G2Play don't intentionally send out dodgy keys - but their method of obtaining keys leaves them open to abuse... they are potentially dodgy and you take your chances if you use them... if you can't afford to lose the money for goodness sake save up the extra and buy 100% legit.

I should point out that they did eventually pay up so people don't get an even worse impression, after about 6 weeks of not paying they eventually refunded me, I realised that the only way to get them to respond is to send atleast 2 emails to all 3 of their email addresses, or they just don't reply EVER.

I still can't reccomend them at all, but atleast eventually they paid up.

i bought mw2 from them... took like 2 hours and still heard nothing so i sent them a message saying my money has gone but i dont have the key yet and you advertised "instant" sending on the site"

after that message i had in about 10 mins later and still all good

I bought some keys from OZCD Keys, Crysis and Need for Speed Undercover, together, they cost me £2.80, I'm downloading Need for Speed now using EA downloader!

Surely this hassle could be avoided by setting up an online persona based in some mud hut in bongobongo land where the lower pricing would be valid?

Or would they ignore the area selection and ban you based on IP location?

interesting thread.

Dont have steam so no idea how it works. But is there something in the steam t & cs that says you can only use approved keys from *their* approved digital sellers?

An addendum to that: Only for use in that respective Region. So basically you cant use russian keys in the UK?

Right, after reading this thread, seeing arguments and eventual man love, I opted to test G2Play. I am not paying £25 for World at War. £10. Bargain. I can afford to lose £10 if they screw me but based on other forums, we shall see

/me waits patiently

:)
