Do not do this people!

I've had all the usual stuff but one of the most painful was a small piece of plastic that was blown into my eye from a cooling fan on an extruder...luckily the plastic was cold.
I felt like I was sat in the walk in centre with half a bramble bush firmly lodged in my pupil.
Worst was though I had to sit there for around 3 hours with my eye dripping and now red raw from all the rubbing.
Once cleaned up etc..the Dr showed me the culprit, the tiniest fragment of plastic - I don't think I've ever felt so manly.
The only upshot is that I got to see the world as Bono sees it - the iodine filled eye is a really odd sensation.

aviation fuel, cue 14 day eye infection :(

worst part is it didn't get in my eye directly, I stupidly rubbed my eye for a second after doing a job and that was it, 20 mins later burning non-stop.

Jet A1 or Avgas? Hopefully not the latter with all the lead in it still :(

I've had superglue in my eye, twice. Not pleasant, hurts a lot, eyelashes fuse together, eyelids glue down. Nasty.

The liquid from a glow stick, was like smothering my eye ball in lava.
Taking out contacts with bits of chili on my fingers didn't even come close.

Olbas Oil

>_o

Had a cold so put some on the pillow. Woke up at stupid o'clock with my eye all sorts of painful.

My son (age 4) did that. Bad parenting

Apparently, it's not particularly dangerous (frantic googling), just stings a bit.

Ha.

Of course the irony is,

After having had the cataract surgery I no longer have to wear glasses all the time. I was very aware that this meant that I was going to be much more careful when carrying out "Hazardous Tasks" since I could no longer take the eye protection provided by my spectacles for granted any more.

I am pretty paranoid about wearing goggles for work, DIY, etc

It simply didn't occur to me that washing up was actually a "Hazardous Activity" too!

I now know better! :D

(I also find it hard to believe that something soo bloody painful doesn't actually cause permanent damage! But everything is fine this morning.)
