Do opened biscuits taste better?

You know, when the ones at the top go a little soft. I'll usually make a pack of digestives last a week or more as I end up waiting a couple of days between eating the top 3-4 to allow the next batch to soften up.

Opened biscuits taste better than ones you try and eat through the packet. Soft biscuits are bad though, leave the softening of the digestive to the mug of tea.

Soft biscuits due to the packet being left incorrectly sealed are wrong.

Fresh crumbly biscuits are clearly superior.

I always find taking the biscuits out of the wrapper first makes them taste better. Bit chewy and plastics flavoured otherwise.

I completely agree OP. Vienesse Fingers are the best. I even open the packet once I buy them to let them soften up. Also people that put any kind of biscuit in the fridge should be burned at the cross.

Was thinking this yesterday! Though I think it only applies to certain biscuits.

A packet of gingernuts was left open yesterday night, in the morning I tried one and it'd softened, was nice. Straight out of the pack they were very dry, after a few hours in an opened pack they were slightly softer and more like gingerbread. Sadly only the first biscuit I tried was like this, the rest were 'normal'.

I can't stand the soggy biscuit. If by chance I've left a packet out, I'll actually throw it away... too soft and mushy!

I worry about some of the people that post on this forum when they consider things like soft biscuits better than fresh crunchy ones.

OP no! Stale soft biscuits are ming. That reminds me of a friend who shakes his fizzy drinks to remove all the carbon dioxide, he only drinks them flat. Both are worse than putting your toilet paper roll the wrong way round.

Doesn't he know there are drinks that come still?
