When The Matrix came out in 1999, so many people walked out thinking "are we living in a computer program?
Then in 2003 Oxford professor Nick Bostrom suggested that we might live in a computer simulation, well fast forward to 2012, & now some physicists at the University of Washington has created a potential test to see if we are indeed living in a computer simulation.

If we were in a computer simulation, we wouldn't be living. So even if we were existing in a computer simulation, the answer to your question is no.

The whole argument is completely irrelevant, since as Descartes addressed it in his Meditations, it doesn't matter if the world is unreal and I'm being deceived by a malicious demon into thinking it exists, I still enjoy the complete sensory perceptions that make up my existence.

what makes us so special compared to an incredibly advanced computer program that simulates life? just because our processor is implemented and memory is implemented biologically compared to the computer implementing this electronically does that make us alive and the computer not alive?

as has been discussed thousands of times before by scientists - by the time we reach post human status (And subsequently have the tech to do this) we will be more concerned about whats out there in the universe than running crappy simulations of human behavior that always boils down to greed and violence.

I think you answered your own question there. The word "simulate".

I find this question both offensive to my level of intelligence and hilarious at the same time......
In a nutshell, No.
Do I get a Nobel prize now?

Every time I read something like this I wonder what lunacy I can propose in order to get some easy funding and a phd.

This too.

Who ever these idiots are, If they are paid, its too much.

Why are we wasting time (Money) on this ****?
Go cure Cancer or develop a way of making V-Power out of veg oil or something.....
