Glasgow house to Southampton house - 427 miles.

4hr28 minutes, would you say that was possible? Door to door....

In a 90bhp car!
It takes over 6 hours at the speed limit.

You would have to do 95mph all the way to do that.

that including time to refill? cant imagine that it would be that economic at 96mph!!

A 90bhp car would be a nightmare to drive at 96mph in the first place, you'd get bored by the noise lol

He would have had to go over 96, must have cruised at 100+ to achieve that as an average.

Taking into account slowing down at each end of the journey, as well as the various roundabouts if he went via Newbury or the M25 if he didnt and you'd need to be cruising at well over 100mph for the whole duration.

VERY brave - I couldnt do it, you are ASKING to be nicked cruising at 100+ for that sort of time.

Best I have ever done Glasgow to cambridge in at very nawty speeds is 4 and a half. and I'd reckon at least another 2 hours to get to SH from birmingham if going down the west coast route.

Is that south or north pf Preston?

I only saw 2 traffic cars, both on 'the other side' one was razzing it with the lights on, the other was on it's little turret thing at the side of the road waiting to pounce.

A few cars I thought may have been unmarked (following me) but you slow down and realise it's just another guy making progress.

Going Northbound from Preston to Lancaster.

Nothing stuck out last time coming back and later on in the evening ill admit i put my foot down a bit, but nothing excessive.

plus when you get up near edinburgh you'll get raped by speed cameras - so you will have to drop to 75 at them..

I drove from Liverpool to Glasgow (well, faslane, just north) in under 3 hrs a few weeks ago, and back down late at night a bit quicker, if that's any indication..

I have been known to do Birmingham to Glasgow before in 3hrs 30mins, thats about 305 miles, so not total luncay, but fairly quick. .
