..what the hell is the point in owning a sports bike this country sometimes? I would be more suited to a boat at present.

I know that come the first bit of nice weather it will make it all worth it, but it's now been raining for pretty much 3 weeks solid here... not been out on it for ages, which is annoying considering we are in Spring and in a 'drought'.

Anyone else feel the same?

Anyway, moan over.

Everyday mate, my new gsxr has done many more wet miles than it has dry miles now :(

Still ride it everyday though, rain or shine :p

Call me a pussy if you will, but I really just don't enjoy riding in the wet. I have no confidence problems, I just don't find it enjoyable what so ever being wet, cold and dodging metal man hole covers. :(

I did my fair share of all season riding for 2 years (including snow!) on my 748... Had enough of it, my rule with the new 1098S is, no more, no more wet weather riding. So, like you, I too am sick of the weather at the moment, I really am getting glum not being able to ride. Like last night, had to get a lift to my mates simply because I was too stubborn to ride the bike :(

Please, just one nice day is all thats needed (please be Tursday, suspension setup booked in).

I actually made the misses spit her tea last night, I went out into the garage to hook my the optimate, figured may as well as it's been sat for 2 weeks already. I lifted the cover, plugged the cable in, and just sat on the floor with my head in the cover haha.

I just sat there, looking at the bike, looking at the newly applied stomp grips, checked they were still on, gave the rear wheel a wiggle, yep, still on. Wiggled the chain, still connected. Then I just sat, with my tea, sitting, watching, wishing...

Then the misses came out, all I heard was "Mother of god... Why can't I get that much attention?" followed by stupid laughter at my internal pain :(

Having been riding for a little over a year, I don't mind riding in the rain (suppose the novelty will wear off one day). I do my 10 mile commute on mine and that way the wife gets the car for her short journey.....but it annoys me every morning I wake and she stares out the window, the slightest bit of the old damp stuff and I get the old "take the car......I can get bus"......ffs..just wish she would understand that I like riding to work.....I got my rain proof clothing for the current weather and my leathers for when its dry.

But yeah...roll on the summer tbh.

Well I am quite happy for the weather to remain **** as it's keeping the price of 2nd hand bikes down. :D
Doing my Mod 1 & 2 in the rain may not be quite as much fun though. :p

On the whole though the weather doesn't bother me or effect my decision to spend all my dough on test/bike/insurance.
Worth baring in mind I had 15 days out on my Chopper this year already & most of them was in Feb.

Pretty much my opinion, I don't enjoy riding in the wet and I especially don't enjoy riding the ZX in the wet. If it's raining I'll take the ER5 or the car.

I've generally avoided riding in the rain, just find it pretty miserable being rained on for 45 minutes, but recently I've lost my car temporarily (another week and a half before I get it back) and I'm finding my gear really isn't suited for wet weather riding :p

Ordered some new boots, and some over-glove things (got 'waterproof' gloves, 2 sets in fact, both keep me dry for 45 minutes no problem but then the inside is damp come the end of the work day), that should keep me dry at least, then my only problem is how filthy my bike is getting :( :p

I don't overly mind the wet weather, but I do have waterproof gear that genuinely keeps me dry and warm so that probably helps!

My bike is my toy, no need to get her wet and its a pain in the ass when i do as it then needs a clean. I recon we plan another Bike meet!

I done that with my zzr1200 only had 3000 odd miles on the clock and for the first year I was like you but be warned you will end up hating your bike because you can not or do not want to ride her.

Do yourself a favour ride her in any weather and dont be lazy :D and clean after every ride , at your age All I done was eat sleep ride clean (rinse and repeat).

Sod's law I got back on my bike after going into a lorry the day after the nice week of sun and it's been nothing but rain, rain, hail and more rain ever since. If I look at the weather forecast it's rain rain and wait for it........more rain.

I don't mind riding in the rain and even did my mod1 in it, it's just a pita to keep the bike moderately clean especially as I keep it outside.

Take a leaf out of my book and don't bother cleaning it. ;)
