Do you game in the dark?

I have tried playing in the dark. But it places stress on my eyes plus I wear glasses, so the reflection from monitor in the dark is piercing through my eyes.

So just play in a lit room
 
It depends on the game, like many others in this thread. Also if I'm looking to really get into the game, or just playing it casually for 30 minutes or so. The main lamp I use has a pretty powerful bulb in it (100w low power replacement! :P), so it's not great for when I want a bit of atmosphere.

Remember how many trees you're helping save when turning the lamp off also ;)
 
Larger screens emit more light so worse on the eyes if played in the dark.

Backlit keyboards I've used like the saitek were actually worse than non lit keyboards for seeing the letters, the keys just reflected the monitors brighter light.

Usually the monitors tend to show enough light to see the non backlit keyboard that is sitting directly infront of it.

I'm sure backlight keyboards have gotten better tho, however they all look hideously designed.
 
I close the blinds usually, but light still seeps through so it's just mildly light. Not dark but not too light either. Usually I game after work though, so when it starts getting dark I usually put the little lamp on in the corner to lighten it up a bit.
