Do you hate your boss?

Not this one (not bad) 1st boss that's who's younger than me. Last one was useless & the one before that I worked for almost 8 years was hard but fair (can't argue with that)

I've hated two bosses, one so much I wanted to kill him & then myself & the other to become bankrupt, as for him it would've been a fate worse than death.

Nope, although I've been there with a boss who I hated.

The **** deliberately deleted data from a spreadsheet that I'd entered, and tried to blame me for not entering the data.

Get another job as soon as possible.

Track changes. Problem solved.

As for my boss - proper sound! No complaints.

Let me get this right - you stupidly send an insulting message about your boss to your boss, and he apologises for angering you?! If I were your boss you'd have been sacked on the spot. He seems far more reasonable and sound than most would be in that situation.

Hate is such a strong word. I disagree with this lack of ethics but otherwise he's not too bad to work for.

I think my Boss is great....especially when he told my wife that I was fast becoming the best researcher in my field he had ever experienced. I think he might have been trying to chat up my wife a bit, but that kind of endorsement said in the company that we were in gives me the sort of career boost that money and hard work simply cannot buy.

My supervisor is spot on, decent bloke who is pretty easy going who always returns a favor.

My area manager is an utter tool, no people skills, poor managemant skills, no concept of personal space with a navy background he can't let go of, thinks he is still there and expects the people under him to be of the same mindset wich means he doesn't deal with confrontation well atall, I have as little to do with him as possible.

Nope, I have a great boss. He's bosses is great too. We all get along fantastically as everyone does their job with utmost professionalism and trust for each other. If we have a problem or disagreement, we'll meet somewhere and have lunch and talk things over and won't leave until we've come to a solution. All sides put in the effort and good things come out of it.

my boss/manager is a hottie, i would double tap her in a heartbeat.....and she knows it.

we have spent the last three years flirting and having fun with it, just makes the job so much easier.

im married, she is engaged. :)

Married and openly admitting you would cheat on your wife

I've worked for 2 employers over the last 10 years, 3 bosses at each. Out of the 6, one was utterly dreadful, a born-again who abused his power to attempt the conversion card on you, but the other 5 including the current one have been great.

My direct manager is Gibbo.....

So I will say "yeah, he is evil, he pretends he is good at Quake, when in fact we all have to humour him because he is the purchasing manager"

No, I don't hate my immediate boss - though he does seem to be regularly either on holiday or on the sick, and on the few occasions he does appear and actually converse with me he simply confirms my idea that he his completely and utterly inept in his role as a manager and is substantially out of his depth. It can only be a matter of time before this muppet is discovered by the higher echelons and he's replaced by another equally moronic individual. His role is currently classed as a "warehouse section manager" however I can only assume that the company in question is confusing the word "manager" with the word "slave" given that his boss recently requested he ask his team members if anyone would be willing to work (and cross a picket line) in Doncaster next week as they're on strike! I'm sure you can all guess the response he got!

So - no, I don't hate him. I do realise he may feel like he's stuck between a rock and a hard place at times and I do appreciate his attempts to coerce me onto the ladder of management but it's never going to happen and it's most definitely not going to happen with this company having seen the way they treat their staff and managers!

WOW!! Good job you didn't say he's ginger and he's got a gay car eh? :p

Generally a good boss, very competent, honest, hardworking and supports his team where required.
On the flipside, he has a tendency to micromanage and insists on being involved in everything (gets annoyed if not cc'd on any emails he considers remotely significant, wants to review plans for all pieces of work etc). Even in my first ever job, I was monitored far less than I am now over 10 years later.
It's a tough one, at times it can be very frustrating having to run everything past him, but I've worked for the opposite in the past (laissez-faire bosses who don't care about anything other than moaning if something isn't done right) and at least I know if there is a problem he will help me to resolve it rather than hanging me out to dry.

To be honest, I don't know how he manages to do all his work on multiple projects and still and be involved in everything else to a detailed level, I'd be wanting to delegate more in that position and do limited monitoring, caring more about the projected/final results than the minutiae of how we get there.
