I'm sorry but I do not understand what a Post count has got to do with "Being fair". If a large post count meant that you were allowed to post in a "special forum" or it meant you got the breaks from the Dons, then I could understand.

But everyone, from Gilly with 6330+ posts to Beginner at 1 post can post anywhere they want as long as they stick to the rules. Their post will be viewed by people with respect and either answered or ignored.

Being fair has NOTHING to do with Post Count.

I cannot understand why postcounts are so contentious - it's just a number ffs!!

Should people with big willies be banned from communal showers because less endowed men might be ashamed?

Clearly to some a big postcount represents a huge willy. (On both sides of this argument!!)

:D <-------------------- = Spam.

No Balddog, sir. I read the forum atleast 2 hours a day, maybe more, and post when I see somthing of interest, so its isnt about me feeling inferior to other post counts sir, but that you create a gap between posters, which sometimes creates posts that are ignored, or dont get as much responce as regular '1337' posters do when they do similar threads.

My point, my friend, is that in a way it does. You dont get 3000+ posts in 6 months without some of it being spam, you have to give me that.

No, I refuse to give you that. Do you venture outside of GD at all?

It also like i said above creates a gap between people on the forum.

Not becuase of the post count, but becuase of the fact they post frequently. It wouldnt change - people would still recognise bitboy, Gilly, et al.

No sir I am not a communist, and fail to see how you came to that conclusion? I believe in everyone having a 'level' ground, sir.

Everyone being equal was the communist ideal. As with all ideals, it never quite works.

People dont get special favours etc because they have a high pc. They are not well known becasue the have 3000 under their name.

They are well known because they post a lot.

Yes, it is the same thing at the end of the day, as post a lot = high pc.

But, its like when you go to a club in rl, if you go often and contribute a lot, you make many friends, people get to know you well.

If you go once a month and just sit in the corner, then tuff poop, you prolly wont get that well known.

From me to you all, whatever your god damn post counts.

Having been here for a while and only got my PC up to what it is by spaming (only to get the OCuk project pulse noticed).

I'd like to say that I enjoy reading the GD boards and others and don't look at other people's pc's.
I find that there a lot of helpful people out there and I get to find out some interesting things, ok some's not to interesting but then I don't have to read them.

Just my 2p's worth

I'd vote for post counts removed for General Disscusion and all the Life forums. Just like For Sale and Testing. Most people dont seem to care about post counts but then theres some that do and the ones that do usually say that it shows what you've contributed to the forum.

But is this or is this not a Hardware forum at the end of the day? If your posting in the Hardware forums then your post count should exist and it should increase as you are contributing. OcUK sell computer hardware not T-Shirts.

My third point is simple there should be a forum where threads like this are kept apart from all the other General Disscusion type threads. There needs to be a forum which houses threads that relate to the forum itself. For instance MOTM threads, Changes to the Forum Threads, and Announcment Threads, etc.
