Do you look forward to going to work?

I wouldn't go as far as to say I look forward to going to work (although I do occasionally I guess) but I do really like my job and certainly don't have cause to not look forward to going in.

I work for a small company (15 people) and everybody is really nice. My job is incredibly varied. My official title is "Technical & Office Support" which means I help with everything as needed - but my main two roles are basic IT support and accounts payable. I also cover the warehouse manager and got my HazMat cert recently. Basically, I'm doing something completely different almost every hour.

Some days yeah, I work in outbound telesales (cold calling ), i spend all day calling up small to medium size businesses offering them a free trial of the credit referencing service we provide.

It's pretty entertaining, but sometimes frustrating, especially when i can give someone a better service than they get from their current provider for literally an 1/8th of the cost & they still aint interested.

I love my job! I had to work over New Years but still really like going to work :)

Its especially fun when its been as windy has it was over the last week, makes for sporty landings ;)

Look forward to it 75% of the time. I work in a secure hospital so every day is different, boring, funny, life threatening, painful.. It's not my dream job though.. That's to come this year.. (wish me luck)

not really, it is like asking if you look forward to going to the doctors, the dentist, or getting your ca serviced. It is just something you o. I do work, I get money, I pay bills and buy toys. That is the relationship, if I got the money without working then I wouldn't do the work.

People say you should always do work that you are interested in, to try to follow hobby or passion. Well how many peoples passions involve anything career related? Do people really dream of being an accounted, being a developer, a manager, sacking supermarket shelves, it support, cleaner? No people do jobs to get money, your only choice is to try to optimize over the set of jobs that offer high pay, are safe and sanitary, and are not as mind-numbingly boring as other jobs.

I don' mind my job, sometimes it is quite fun, often it is not. Even if it was really fun do I want to spend 40-60 hours a week doing it? No, but I need the money.

I would love to go skiing all day, travel the world, drink good beer, feast on fine food and make love to my wife. Sadly I cannot make a career out of that lot.

Well it is possible, a lot of people make their passions into their careers. You just have to be driven to do what you want and fight for a job you enjoy. Sure its simple to 'sit back' and find a normal job that pays bills and allows for a good standard of living, but means you won't be enjoying what you will be spending the majority of your life doing!

I'd much rather live to work then work to live!

I guess I'm biased, as my job is my passion. I am a firm believer that you can do what you want with your life if you put in the effort.

I'm a software developer, sometimes I wish the people at work were less grumpy, old and bitter, as it tends to be infectious. Overall though I like how much there is too learn and plenty of room to continue to develop my skills.

I also like the feeling that I am actually creating something, rather than just pushing numbers around on a spreadsheet and attending meetings.

Oh and I don't mind going in every day, unless I get asked to do a weeks worth of testing or something, then I might just kick off! :D

No, not one bit.

I'm working for my Dad's business but I just hate the work. The last year has been pretty crap and I can't see it changing anytime soon. The job just isn't for me. I may end up burning bridges if I leave but lately have just thought 'screw it'.

Work for a delivery company and most days, I enjoy it.

Not the work really, but the people I work with. Most are a great bunch. Some are impressive eye candy.

I dont mind coming to work when its going to be a quiet day and I can get on with own work, its just when I get days where people just bother me all the time asking me stuff, trying to palm work off on to me which they should be doing (I am really tough on this now as it got bad at one point) and days where you just get the most crappy stuff that comes through to deal with with people expecting you to do it RIGHT THERE RIGHT NOW when you have critical stuff to get on with.

Working in a small team doesnt help, I really should be focusing 80% of my time in work on higher tier'd stuff but end up helping out others due to for mentioned small team.

I did, now I don't.

I worked for a company a few years back, and realised what a huge mess they were, and are only so busy because of they have been around for years. Ended up arguing with someone quite high up within the ranks, and got an ultimatum of resign or be forced out.

So, did a few jobs here and there, then found myself one working for the nations number one crisp company.

Our department just got bought out by the company I used to work for. The changes they have brought in so far have been poorly executed to say the least, prices are rising for customers, overall we are becoming a circus.

I work with a GREAT group of guys, which is the one thing keeping me there still.

Have always wanted to work at an airport though, planes make me tingly. So I think I may start looking for vacancies at Gatwick, see if I can find something that I would probably enjoy doing, purely because of the location, feeling like a small cog in a massive machine, but a valuable one!.

Having returned to work after a 14 month break in September, I really get a kick out of being back in work (Welfare to Work). That's not to say it is not without it's daily hassles but I enjoy supporting people and quite enjoy the challenge of turning around peoples' negativity.

But... I have let 20 years slip through my fingers due to lack of drive and ambition and have decided to take a new job that I start at the end of January as a Training Consultant for a Software Development firm. Really excited and looking forward to a chance of a fresh start. I can always return to W2W if need be but this is something I really want to try.
