Do you rinse your dishes?

I thought rinsing was normal?

One thing that isn't normal, is my mum and sister will rinse dishes to the point of them looking clean before putting them in the DISH WASHER.

This really angers the males in my family, especially myself and my brother in law, who has often unpacked a dirty dishwasher or put dishes in a clean one due to it being virtually impossible to tell the difference.

Yeah I lived with my uncle years ago who didn't trust the dishwasher and would make me wash the dishes before putting them away. I agree to the extend that some stuff are hard to come off if they've been left to dry, and I'd scrub them without washing up liquid before sticking them in.

I think it's a trial thing when I do eventually get a dishwasher regarding that.

in a place with a dishwasher i would always rinse the majority of the crap off before placing it in the washer.

Far from it. I do a lot of exercise.

Quick shower in the morning, shower post exercise, quick shower before bed.

why shower before bed???

I usually shower twice a day once when I get up then post gym/before going out at night..

And I always like to rinse stuff unless I'm leaving to dry then cba to get the whole plate/glass/etc wet again.. The water is dirty after washing up so why let the poo water set and dry on the plates?

I always rinse, because otherwise drying is HELL. Bubbles are so ****ing wet.

Yep, me too. I prefer to put things away straight after washing them, which means they need to be dried, so rinsing is a necessity :p

I usually also rinse before washing as well, especially if I can't be bothered to wash up immediately.

Fascinating stuff, eh?

rinsing a majority of the crap off is fair enough, but this is to the point where everything looks clean, which just causes confusion

I actually prefer to shower before bed if I can - keep my bed clean! Reality is I'm too tired to do that a lot of the nights so I alter between "pre-bed" and "post-bed".

Rinse ..... ever since I observed that rainbow type film on the top of my coffee.

Washing-up routine:

1. After I've finished using the dirty item, I try to rinse most of the food off and then put it into an empty washing-up bowl.

2. When I come to do the washing-up, I fill the bowl up with soapy water and leave it for a bit. During this wait, I'll be clearing the draining board of all of the items washed-up previously.

3. I then scrub each item and, in turn, rinse it under a running tap before putting it onto the draining board.

4. Then I just let the items drip dry; drying them manually seems a little pointless to me since just leaving them works fine.

5. Go to step 1.

I don't even use a bowl. It's just cleaned under running hot water with a soapy sponge/scourer.

So I guess that counts as rinsing. To not rinse, especially when using a bowl is disgusting.

:D disgusting? We aren't talking about cleaning them with our underpants or in the toilet bowl.
