Do you run an AdBlocker?

Pihole. In fact, two piholes in case one goes down. This has never happened yet but I'm prepared.

Yes I run one. I would prefer not to as I appreciate that the sites have to generate revenue somehow. But the ads are so intrusive on some sites that I just block as much as I can now.

The worst are the people that complain about people that use them and claim their ads are non-intrusive so you add the site to the whitelist and the ads are intrusive. At one point this same site even with the ad blocker on until they fixed it played a Twitch channel at full volume for a game they liked/trying to shill.

absolutely do. can't install one at work and the net is horrible. you get four or more ads, generally the same goddamn one, on many sites, and the tracking is something i absolutely detest ~ i'll look for something on Amazon, then next time i use the net there's ads for that and related products all over the pages. like i need the reminder. pages usage can slow to a crawl or lock completely.

now i need a blocker for those infuriating floating vids that auto play then jump around the screen when you try and scroll. ****ing things.

I run 2 adblockers.

I don't think the advertising model is sustainable as we progress in to the future.

the only places i don't adblock are the ones (like here) where the advertising is unobtrusive.

the advertising industry did it to itself, if it wasn't constantly shoving autoplay videos with obnoxiously loud audio down your throat then people wouldn't bother.

Another Adblock user here, as some others I whitelist certain sites that I don't mind having the ads run on as I don't mind supporting them that way.

Youtube on the iPhone is another matter, I've recently started getting double adds on certain videos, guessing this is a new thing as it's only been in the last couple of weeks?

uBlock Origin and Ghostery
what does the addition of ghostery give you ? if you have cookie isolation on, inside ff ?

I use noscript in ff and ublockO in chrome, but, may start using ublock in FF,

In UblockO, if you enable 3rd party site in one tab - does it get enabled across other tabs ? noscript can't do that
eg ssl-images-amazon.com or even youtube can be a resource hog if enabled globally

edit - just realised this is in under general forum, not s/w !
