Do you think it's like the Megadrive or Snes again?

Truth is that if you want the best gaming console around today the 360 is it, If you want a future proof HD player and a better built console (although MS have improved of late) with a limited selection of games that will probably hit the big time mid next year then the PS3 is the one to go for, If you want 10 mins fun here and there poncing around with a wavey stick and can't live without Zelda/Mario games then the Wii is for you....and you are probably a big girls blouse...or even a girl;)

What's to argue about?

Come on now, be honest. Since the release of the PS3, there has most definitely not been a constant stream of amazing games for the system. Everyone knows that the major weakpoint of the PS3 is the poor quantity of decent games. This was especially prominent early on, but has become less so recently.
And there's been a constant stream of amazing games for 360 have there? A constant stream of mediocre rubbish with some amazing games inbetween more like.

You're right about the PS3, early on things were dire but have improved greatly with some excellent cross platform titles. The 'PS3 doesn't have any games' argument is old, boring and more importantly untrue.

I have both platforms (when the little geezer gives me my PS3 back!) and there's more on the PS3 that interests me now.

You mentioned quantity, what does that really mean where games are concerned?

What's to argue about? That you state opinion as fact?

The sooner people see that only certain games appeal to certain individuals, who are all different and have different tastes and expectations, will this pointless arguing over the 'best' console ever end.

What's good for one is not the same for everybody, learn it, live with it and stop making 'I speak not just for myself' statements.

:)

The PS3 exclusives this year look a hell of a lot better than the 360s. Only Ninja Gaiden II that I've wanted on 360 thus far and Splinter Cell later on in the year. Where as PS3 GT5p, Time Crisis 4, Metal Gear Solid 4, Wipeout HD, Killzone 2, MotorStorm 2, Resistance Fall Of Man 2, Tekken 6. (off the top of my head.)

Well yes, basically. Either that or there's been a huge influx of excellent games all within a month or so. Either way you've got tons of games to be playing through. I am literally drowning in games for my 360, and I don't even have all the games I want. So many games so little time.

My PS3, it's very much a different story.

Care to share as me and my bros 360 are in a different situations. Enless you are of course relating to multiplatform games?

I'm starting to wear out the I M and O keys on my keyboard quite frankly, feel free to disagree with me, which bit don't you agree with?:)

The Wii bit at the end was a joke but I'm not going to type /jk at the end of it either;)

You mentioned quantity, what does that really mean where games are concerned?

It means that there are more of them..hope that's cleared that up.

I had both a Mega Drive and SNES which were played equally - the SNES had the far better RPGs and adventure games while the Mega Drive had games like Streets of Rage, Sonic (which I liked more than Mario at the time), Vectorman, Comix Zone, etc. It did good platforming games more frequently. I also had a NeoGeo which got literally a few days' gameplay.

This generation mimmicks it almost identically - you have the staple PS3 and 360, with the Wii getting no play and eventually being sold, just like my old NeoGeo was.

Nintendo actually have the best attach rates.

Thought it had the lowest by far? This is based off several month old NPD data though.
* Xbox 360: hardware to software ratio: 6.59 (hardware total sold = 6.8 million; software total sold = 44.8 million)
* PlayStation 3: hardware to software ratio: 3.58 (hardware total sold = 1.9 million; software total sold = 6.8 million)
* Wii: hardware to software ratio: 3.44 (hardware total sold = 4.5 million; software total sold = 15.5 million)

More recent posting: http://www.gamasutra.com/php-bin/news_index.php?story=17099 January of this year still sees Wii having lowest attach rate.

See my link for april figures, I was very wrong about the 360 figures though and I'm not sure where I heard that the Wii had the best attach rate from =/

The bit where you say that the 360 is the best gaming console around today. You state it as fact, where it's actually just your preference. Myself and others here 'currently' prefer the PS3, so how does that make the 360 the best?

Answer = It doesn't. A console is only as good as the games you want to play, make it.

Stop being pedantic, it doesn't suit you.

5 points to the man/woman who can spot the trend in this post and ultimately and in my opinion is the biggest thing wrong with SONY?
