Do you think our society is becoming more voyeuristic?

You probably won't believe me but i swear this is true.

Those of you that been to Plymouth Uni library, there is a toilet downstairs. One day I was there for the afternoon doing research and needed a no.1. And whilst i was inside I saw a porn mag on the floor in one of the stalls. This is the dodgy bit, directly above it, part of the ceiling tile was lodged slightly up a bit and there was a mirror tucked within the gap, and if you stand in the stall and look up, the mirror reflect directly to the next stall.

I believe you, and that's yucky, it coul,d be some girl having a poo in the next stall!

sex offenders register for 10 years? thats a bit harsh....especially considering theres a good chance the same female students regularly show their knockers to anyone who asks when theyre out on a friday night.

Its funny how you all laugh, but if someone had came on here telling us how his sister was one of the girls, you would all be posting how you wanted to kill him and so on.

Think about that

i said this on the previous page. completely agree. i think some people on here still have 'trying to prove themselves as lads' issues and think theyre funny.

we may be harsh and "kill it with fire" and all that, but filming in the shower isn't something that i feel most people here wouldn't consider worthy of major beatings.

Its wrong, the thing is how far would this guy have gone, nobody can know.

The 10 years is there to stop him having anything to do with a job where he could exploit his position / work with a vulnerable group. It is perfectly warranted as there is no doubt that he did place the camera, and he did think it through well in advance.

Huge difference as was said between walking in on someone, 'OOPSS! sorry' and setting up a camera and directing them to use the bath with it setup on.

Its wrong, and he has been reprimanded accordingly.

The guy did wrong and got what he deserves. Who cares if "the same female students regularly show their knockers to anyone who asks when theyre out on a friday night", the fact is he did it without their permission. I doubt they would have either since I quote, he was a "overweight loner" :p He should have just payed and gone to a strip club to be honest. Technology is just making this Voyeurism easier to commit, its not like its just started happening recently.

AAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH..... BISTO!

The voice of reason prevails. Quite right you are. I originally said fair play but I was just bein a bit laddish, yeh as the article said he's a fat loser LOL (he must be gutted btw, not just the 10 years sex offender list which will make him un employable, but the article on bbc news calls him a fat desperate loser etc. "shamed his family" etc. LOL) and deserves what he gets, I totally agree anyone going to that extent to invade privacy deserves punishment, I'd be quite pleased to *accidently* ;) (jk) stumble across some naked girls but setting up a cam is takin it too far.

I think stories like this are incredibly sad
'Great shame' of student voyeur

This is the second story of this I have heard recently and I'm sure many more don't make the papers. One instance of this came about when I was at uni in Sheffield. It can be VERY damaging to the females involved and completely destroys any trust they have in male/female relationships.

Interested in peoples views on the matter.

Am I the only one who thinks that the whole thing was completely over the top.

Come on he filmed them in the bath, yes it was naughty. Hardly worth a Crown hearing what a waste of money.

Perhaps simple "showerhead damaged, please use bath" ? :p

personally i would have gone with "water shortage, please think of the environment and share a shower with your fellow students"

ummm..... i mean yes this was very bad ;)

he invaded their privacy yes, he was in the wrong without a doubt, but i still think it was a bit extreme, its only a bit of nudity
