Do you update your Bios?

I was wondering if you update your Bios regularly because its a common myth that you shouldn't if it works at the older version as it can leave your motherboard dead but many of occasions my bios updates have gave me a incredible boost in performance and better overclocks!

So whats your say on this?

I update mine to the one which works the best for me, on my current board for example: Bios updates 1 to 10 were excellent, but the most recent two made my overclock unstable, so I am sticking to version 10 instead of the newest. But normally I like to keep them very up to date yep :D

Havent done it on my current board as all is running great. Updated my previous p5q deluxe bios a few times, finally settled on ver 1406 as this was the best for clocking the q9550 i had.

I always keep mine up to date. My Rampage III supports two bios so if there is a beta or new release I can try that without worrying about screwing anything up.

Running my UD5 on the shipping bios F7 and never had any of the problems that other people have. My Rex3 though i do update to new offical bios as the board is so new, will prob stop after a few more

Never done one. I'm currently using a Gigabyte 890GPA-UD3H, and the BIOS it came with seems to do me fine, not planning on doing anything with it because I've seen a few forum threads about how dodgy the BIOS releases have been for this bored.

I only update if there are new features that make it worthwhile. In general, you should only update if the new BIOS fixes problems or adds new features, not just for the sake of it.

I always flash my bios or other hardware if the updates are there, I have never borked a piece of hardware by flashing the bios or updating the firmware, although I am sure it could happen you would have to be unlucky or have a power cut for it to happen imo.

If I buy a new board I would always update the BIOS to the latest (if it doesn't come with it), or if an update gives new features or cures some problem...on occassions I have found that a later BIOS doesn't give as good a performance as an earlier one, for instance my Asus P5Q Deluxe performed best with BIOS 08xx...

I update if there is something in a newer release that may be of benefit to me, such as better memory compatibility.

I also tend to update if my bios is several versions outdated, such as I just put F10 bios on my motherboard yesterday as it was on F7.

Only usually if I have or the BIOS update warrants it as they have added extra features which make it worth while.
