Do you use DAB radio in your car? Is it worth it?

I can't access that profile. Not sure what you are referring to.

I've got DAB in my work van and it's pretty terrible around here at least so i rarely use it. i think in some places it all the mountains of Snowdonia but it also cuts out on the top end of Anglesey too which is pretty flat so all in all it's a pretty pointless technology in my experience anyway, in the 5+ years i've had the van the signal hasn't got any better so i guess it's not something they're still rolling out, this must just be it.

Fairly unanimous then. It's **** and hasn't added much value at all.
Oh wow, the third post links the same exact youtube vid! :O Seems like this thread was already done. I must have missed it.

I use it. BBC Radio 4 Extra. That's about it. Although with the rear dashcam on it garbles the DAB reception.
bad news linear channel is going away ... I'll have to build up my stock of podcasts.
... episodes of the good doctor who, classic serials, tumanbay (GOT for adults) ... hancock becoming PM last week

Listen to Magic radio all the time, only time I have connection issues is when I go through the Peak District, wouldn’t want to be without DAB in the future

DAB in my car is pretty crap. Radio 1 is ok 80% of the time whereas Radio 5L only works half the time, so I'm often switching to am/fm when driving, or just giving up on radio. My car is a 2017 M240i and if anyone knows if it has the ability to switch to non-DAB on the fly, I would love to know how. My ex's car would switch automatically, with only a slight skip in sound, and it's onkybnow that I am appreciating this feature.

I use it until it stops randomly, because reasons. Actually find my Amazon music over cellular data more reliable on a drive

Noticed around here in my wife's Seat the last 18 months has been horrendous struggling to even connect to BBC radio. She got a new car last week and the DAB picks up instantly on all the stations and seems to have a much greater selection.

Have DAB on an aftermarket head unit in the wife's car. It's fairly reliable on the motorway network, but the moment you're off it (at least in leafy Cheshire) it spends more time silent than playing anything.

My mate has it as original fit in his Astra though, and it seems like it's far more reliable.

Had DAB in the 5 series, tbh never experienced dropouts. What I did notice is that the sound quality of the same station on FM back to back was absolutely night and day better. So I just used FM, don't know why you would use DAB when the station is available on FM.

have used DAB radios for years and would miss all the great stations if I had to go back to FM only. I suppose internet radio is starting to take over now.
