Do you work your proper hours?

I'm contracted for 37 hours a week, and I do 37 hours a week. I accept a bit of give and take between 7am and 6.30pm Mon-Fri. Anything outside this is my time, which I am happy to give up for time and a half, or double time after midnight and on Sunday.

I'm contracted 8:30am till 4:30pm, im in every morning about 7:50am, start working at 8 and i leave anywhere between 4:30 and 5:15pm (edit: contract also contains 8:30am till 4pm on a friday, and i never leave later than 4 on a friday!)

My manager knows i do this a lot in order to get certain things done so i can book half days or go home early some days when i feel like it without it coming out of my holiday

I also tend to work through my lunch breaks a lot, while eating my lunch.....one of the people i work with on the other hand is the complete opposite and it drives me up the wall.

I'm contracted to do 9-5.30, but in reality do 8-6.30, plus an hour two extra at home each night. On the plus side, I work with great people and love the job. I also got to work from home for two whole years so can't really grumble now.

I do my contracted hours, I only ever stayed longer cos of my own will few times and it was no more that 10-15min max, and on couple of occasions I was asked to stay longer but I got paid extra for that.

I really hate staying over my contracted hours and most of the time I clock out excactly at 5.30pm as I am supposed to.

Self employed here so hopefully if I am putting in an hours outside of 9.30-6.30 there is some financial benefit to me. Saying that I haven't been taking a wage for a year in order to grow the business/get through the recession.

I work 7.5 hours per day.

It's flexi time of 08:00-18:00 with core hours (can't remember what they are though!).

Usually I arrive 08:30 and leave 17:20, and have a 1 hour lunch.... so most days they get an extra 20 mins out of me.... but I don't care tbh.

I work flexi time, 37 hours a week, however i tend to get there at 07:30 and leave between 17:30 and 17:45 with half hour lunch as this lets me rack up the time and take lots and lots of days back. They pay me double if they want to see my face on a saturday.

37.5 hours a week, but im generally there 0930-1900. Sucks, I'm just a lowly intern but don't wanna look bad when no one else has left yet! Most of the office are there 1930 onwards, madness.

Hours of randomness is what I work.

I am contracted to work 37.5 hrs per week. I don't think it's been <50 hrs for over a year. Average is probably 60 hrs at the moment, though I worked about 60 hrs in just 3 days not too long ago :\

Usually in the office by 8 and leave any time after 6, plus evening and weekend work.

There's a guy at work who says he holds the office record - 99 hrs in the week!

If I often dream what it would be like if I were paid overtime.. or time and a half!

Good article.

Personally I arrive at 7.00-7.30AM, start work at 8AM. Leave at around 6 (contracted till 5.30). I like getting in early, gives me chance to have a couple of cups of coffee and spend some time on my own stuff. I feel better for getting up early too (leave the house at 6AM, up around 5.30AM).

However, been off ill the past month - which means I've been having to fill in a timesheet, which is hard. Does anyone else feel cheated when they spend 4-5 hours on a problem, mulling it over, possibly not working on it directly (i.e. thinking about it whilst cooking lunch or similar) - and then you feel so guilty about charging for five hours you only put in for two. Two hours being the amount of time you actually had pen to paper, or rather, fingers to keyboard.

work however long is required to get the job done.

if I have no work I will go home at 1pm. but most of the time I work quite a bit more than my contract, current putting in at least 7-8hr of unpaid overtime at the moment.

Contracted 10-6 Mon Fri.

Start anywhere between 9.15 & 10.00 and finish anytime between 6.00 & 6.15

I'm happy my options in this regard.

Flexible start time every day, working base hours to the dot then leaving is no problem, and you can choose to do paid overtime at your own discretion if you want to keep working on something.
