Do your fingers default to the WASD keys?

WASD,shift and space here too... bizzare as I don't play FPS that much any more.

Too much UT2003/4 in the past I think.... god help me when UT3 finally comes out :D

haha as i saw this my fingers where sat covering over AWD Shift and Space. but partly becasue my keyboard has a mouse scroll next to the shift key and naturally my fingers sit near wasd

Nopes, Don't play that much FPS games, I do have to always keep my hand on my mouse though, too many real time strategy :(.

yeah... i suffer from "WSAD syndrome" at work, when i'm resting my hand on the keyboard sure enough they are on wsad and shift.

Haha, my hand defaults to WASD too, with shift and space for the pinky and thumb. There's a few others where I used to work that were the same; you just knew they were PC gamers.

Left hander reporting in, I default to IJKL (movement controls for FPS) + ; (Crouch!) and space (jump), they look visibly different from all the other keys on the keyboard due to all the extra use they get :) .
Why don't you right handers use e,s,d,f for movement? Seems much more natural than wasd and it gives your little finger more buttons to press.

Yup, from the left...Shift, A, W, D, Space...but then I'm at home now :D

I looked at this thread while at work today and my left hand was on the arrow keys

must....play....more....fps....must....play....:p

edit: great thread btw

because wasd places the little finger directly on top of the larger shift and control buttons wich are easier to use. esdf puts little finger on the small \ key and also because of the sizes/indentations is really uncomfortable to reach anything other than /.
