Dodge Challenger AWD !!!

At the moment someone with or looking for something challenger like will probably also have a truck (or some form of SUV) and store the challenger in the garage over winter. Save them from killing themselves with loss of traction and also saves the car from being destroyed by salt (where used) or stone chips. At least that's the case around here.

I guess the aim is, as you say, to allow people to use it year round. Some will get it, wipe others will still have a Ram truck for winter use.

I don't know why everyone thinks it's the US that's pickup mad, I drove through a surburb of Hinton the other month in Alberta and the only houses which didn't have 1 Pickup on the drive had 2 :D It was nuts!

I read an article the other month that said half of all vehicles sold in Alberta were trucks or SUVs. :p

I feel that there are two parts to N America though, you have what we shall politely call "country" states/provinces and "civilized" states/provinces. The former, like Alberta, the Midwest and Texas are truck mad - big sky, big trucks and big houses, listening to country music all the time. The latter like Vermont, NH and Ontario are more gentile, with their nice BMs and imports. :p

Would the latter be the main buyers of a Challenger? Not sure it would fit well next to their 5 series. :p

Edit: also worth pointing out the top 3 selling vehicles in the US are usually trucks! But that's probably in part because there isn't as much choice as other styles of car, and they lump all the "F- series and Rams together, rather than seperating them out into specific models.

dont forget that Yanks have large appetites, so a pick up is perfect for the weekly shopping, most Yanks have 3 fridges, they keep dead Reindeer and Mouse in the other two :D:D:D

`` you've got an odd accent fella``.............``yea m8 i come from England``..........``oh gee New England, great for hunting``............``no England as in G.B it's next to Europe``.............``ooooooooooh yea, that little island, you have a queen right?``............Florida 1984 :D:D

And the joys of N American pickups is they'll do 0-60 in 6-7 seconds and not struggle going up big hills... Unlike your average European one. :p

I really enjoyed the GM Tahoe I had in the US, was the V8 with around 350 horses and 0-60 in around 6s, every set of lights I treated like a Gran Prix start.

The lane guidance work so well it would even steer round corners, yes I really did test it. :D

Well no, it isn't a huge price difference.

Cadillac's only regular Saloon in the UK now is the new CT6 - it starts at £70k. This is no cheaper than the equivalent BMW 7 Series.

Meanwhile, in the US, a CTS 2.0T is $45k - but a BMW 528i starts at $50k. It's more expensive, but it's not a pretty huge price difference.

It's not a segment I know a lot about, but I can't think of any competitors to the Corvette or Jeep SRT8 for similar money?

Nobody else really makes a competitor to those cars anyway. Who else makes a car the same as the corvette?

They are not premium brands anyway, Cadillac is and therefore it's pricing isn't far off the German cars.
