Doedorant in luggage (EasyJet)

would it not be cheaper just to buy deo at your destination lol

I don't see why people take toilet bags on handluggage?
so that i can take toiletries with me on holiday, or on the plane if it's a long haul flight and in economy

do you not wash?

unless you mean as hand luggage as opposed to in the hold.
hand luggage > hold because you don't need to wait for ages for your bags after a flight

when i went to cyprus a few weeks ago.

my lynx cans were taken out of my hand luggage and placed into a blue wheely bin at stanstead.

security guy said it was over 100ml. i said, were if i sprayed about 25ml on myself. Then it would become 75ml. would i be able to take it as hand luggage?

he laughed and said, no.

am I going to accidentally ... the plane? :o

You accidentally the whole place

But anyway, you'll be fine with deodorant cans etc in the check-in/ hold luggage, though tbh to avoid any unnecessary hassle, unless you're going to die without just keep anything liquid etc in the checkin/hold bags. Though saying that my boss was let through security in Portugal with a large tube of tooth paste in his hand luggage and going from Edinburgh a friend of mine got through with a scalpel in hers by saying she was a student architect and it was a tool of her trade

Does anyone know if you're allowed to take deodorant/anti-persperant in hand or hold luggage on EasyJet? I'm not sure as it is flammable and in a pressurised container. Same question for hair spray actually.
I've had a look on the website and tried googling but can't find the info I want.

I see a lot of replies are telling you what you can 'probably get away with'. What you asked is whether your are ALLOWED to take these flammable sprays onto a plane in either hand or hold luggage. The rules as goverened by IATA clearly stipulate that flammable liquids and gases 'are not permitted on one's person nor in checked or carry-on baggage.'

In another part of the IATA ruling it reads the following :
'Aerosol: Aerosols in division 2.2 ( non-flammable, non-toxic ), with no subsidiary risk, for sporting or home use, are permitted only in checked baggage.

So to answer your question, no, if it's flammable, it is not allowed anywhere on the plane. The reason being, it could leak during the flight putting the plane and passangers at risk. Unfortunately, almost all spray deoderants are highly flammable. So if you need to take deoderant, take the stick or ball type (and if under 100ml, you can also take onto the plane).

in turkey they are only recomendations until Oct 1st 2009 (iirc). Carry what you want in as hand luggage from their airports.

I thought the issue was the destination airports rather than departure? I flew to Canada the day after the ban started and was on one of the first flights to allow liquids (bought airside obviously!). The staff at the time said that the Canadian government were the least concerned about a terrorist threat and so had relaxed the rules for flights into their country but the US wasn't so fast.

So you can sort yourself out on the plane? I didnt fancy the idea of meeting my girlfriend following not having had a wash, shave, or brushed my teeth for 30 hours.

In a similar vein to the OP, does anyone know if you have to buy the plastic bag before arriving at the airport or whether they give them out there? I'm flying from Gatwick if it makes any difference?

Thanks,

Ben

Just take a clear plastic sandwich bag.

There will likely be a machine there to give you 4 bags for a pound, or something... so avoid that!

What I find absolutely stupid is that, when all the liquids fuss first came about, when they were outright banned on planes, we were out on the Canaries. Came back on the flight, accidently left a water bottle in my hand luggage, they didn't even bat an eyelid. It totally defeats the point if some countries just completely ignore the rules!

What I don't understand is, you aren't allowed to take anything flammable (including alcohol) on the plane, but you can buy as much alcohol as you like on board.

She would have understood as you'd been on a long haul flight it's not like you can have a shower, take one of those chewy toothbrushes and call it quits.

You can buy the bags in little dispenser machines just before the checking part normally...about a quid for a couple of bags.

Or, as someone else said, just buy some sandwhich bags.
