Doedorant in luggage (EasyJet)

What I don't understand is, you aren't allowed to take anything flammable (including alcohol) on the plane, but you can buy as much alcohol as you like on board.

I think you'll find they mean things with high concentrations of alcohol which are easily flammable. I personally havent managed to set light to lager but there's always a first!

I personally think they should ban drinking on planes altogether. I find it funny that you can't drink on the London Underground but you can drink on a sealed aircraft going 100s of MPH.

Can't comment on EasyJet but I once forgot a can of deodorant in my rucksack (handluggage) when flying BA, needless to say it resulted in a full bag search and was destroyed.

That must be a fun job eh? Destroying flammable liquids in pressurised containers?

"Throw that one on a fire! hehehehe RUN"
"Shoot it, quick before someone comes!"

I thought you could buy straight spirits on a plane. I don't know, never personally tried to buy them. :p

Definitely should be banned though. Or at least restricted to a certain amount per person. I can't understand why you'd want to get drunk on a plane anyway.

Hand luggage for roll-ons is allowed,

Actually not, they recently took off roll on dedorant from a flight captain due to it "being a solid but if it was melted down it would become a liquid"

You cannot reason with these thick ****s airport security. There's no evidence what so ever that any of this stuff can be used as a bomb but that doesn't stop the thick jobsworth *****s.

The muppets make me remove my belt in case I'm carrying a knife, even though I'm putting a knife though the scanner. Why would I hide another?

I've had muller fruit corners taken off me, and various smaller yogurts due to the threat of terrorists. I'd love to see someone take a plane out with a strawberry fruit corner.

can you take a 1000ml bottle of frozen water onto a plane... its not a liquid... until it melts...

They have taken butter off me before, because if it melts it becomes a liquid. When I remarked that I could melt my tools down to a liquid as well, was it ok if I brought those through they got 'grumpy'.

They will also let me take through a frozen curry, but if it melts and is too much of a liquid they take it off you.

The whole thing has gone way to far.

It varies with airports, hence why you should check the individual airlines :)

It has nothing to do with the airlines and all to do with security. The airline can tell you its fine as many times as they like but the nazi security guard can still decide to take it off you.

The rules vary from security guard to security guard.

As I said, never had issues.

No issues going to Holland anyway.

I still can't believe the amount of people I see getting liquids taken off them.

I once walked upto security and I'd forgotten to take out a can of Kick I had in my bag. I mentioned it to my collegue, he said chance it. So I did, as my bag went through the scanner my mate pulled a diversion tactic to a male security guard.

"I'm not gay of anything but haven't you had you haircut?"

Bag sailed straight through and guard is always nice to my mate now :D

I noticed last time I went through Luton while travelling with just hand luggage, that the baggage searches are quite random. As they don't fully go through all of peoples bags, and I was a bit annoyed because I had some hair shaper confiscated which was only just over the recommended ml, but was half used. Yet I saw people being searched and then let on by other guards with liquids which were over the recommended ml.

Obviously you can then buy whatever you want in Boots when you get through security, and I was then able to bring back all the same stuff coming the other way in Spain because they don't care as much.

It probably needs to be more strict I guess, but I'm glad to see those terrorists got properly prosecuted as I had to to fly to the Caribbean the day after they were arrested. That was chaos as you could take no hand luggage and pretty much nothing but clothes in your hold luggage. Most of the airline and ground crew staff had no idea what was even allowed on and what wasn't. I couldn't even get an answer as to whether I was allowed to buy anything in the shops, or whether it was going to get taken away from me at the gate.

Grannies getting their knitting needles and crochet needles taken off them.
I got on with with leatherman, swiss army knife and a my cut throat razor in my washbag.
Plus once you get past the security nazi's - want razor blades? Boots is just over there.

One person once got stopped getting on a plane because of a clear plastic waterpistol that was filled with sweets - that they bought from the airport shop!
Oh, and expect to get treated suspiciously if you get on a flight with no hold luggage. My other half went over with the lot the week before for her company junket. I followed on at the weekend for a week of fun. Many security questions about why I didn't have any luggage other than a washkit, book, mp3 player and phone.
