I've been biting my nails for as long as I can remember, must have been from a really young age, I've never really been bothered about them until now.

I really want to try and get these fixed, but honestly they are really ****ing bad, I just can't see how they will ever be normal again, I can't even see my cuticles on any finger.

I know this is a somewhat female question lol but god they are horrendous!

I'm currently using some Stop'n Grow and I haven't touched them for nearly 2 days, they seem to be growing quite quickly.

Looking at my nails I think I need to keep pushing them back as much as possible with orange sticks because they look so short.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated please, I was going to walk into a beauty shop, embarrassing as it would be but then had second thoughts, I'm pretty sure any beauticial would turn me away in disgust! :(

They grow quickly if you bite them. I bite mine and I can have really long nails after a few days if I don't.

Just wear gloves for a week :p

I used to do it really badly used a similar product (cant remember name) and after a few weeks just stopped.
That was years ago still dont do it.

I have been biting mine since I realised I could. I even love biting the skin round the sides. I tried Stop & Grow many years ago but it did not work.

I have managed to keep mine pretty decent now. I still nibble them a little sometimes, but nowhere near as badly as I used to simply by keeping a nail file with me. Rough edges on the nails are an invite to bite / rip them off so by keeping them filed smoothly right down you will have nothing to bite in the first place.

Eventually you can try and let them get a little longer but always keep them filed smooth.

So just a nail file and some orange sticks should do the trick?

Keep them moisturised as much as possible? Should I use some specialist cream or just vaseline?

Haha Mat :D

I've been biting mine for as long as I can remember also. Its not a good habit and damages your teeth in the process.

I've finally managed to kick it by simply pretending to bite. Sounds weird i know, but it worked. I now have to cut them 1-2 times a week and file them too.

Using a cream will help them grow back and strengthen the nail.

I used bite them really bad but now I let them grow and 'reward' myself by biting them short instead of cutting them. Weird I know but it seems to be working.

Looks painful but ive done it a few times, ive bit my nails since i was very young, its something i cant seem to stop, i sit in work biting them all the time making them painful myself, i hate it when you get to the root on your thumb and it throbs to the point you feel a pulse lol.

yeah thats worse than men. I usually stop when my nails are at the edge of growing outward, hurts after that. Gues a low pain threshhold is a good thing here.
