Does anyone else get sad when hungover?

Don't think the OP means simple physical pain here, or feeling bad as a direct result of that physical pain. We're talking about that subtle, creepy emotional manifestation, a bit like being paranoid. Pretty sure it's anxiety though.

Yes that's the exact feeling! It's not nice

If you don't get a hangover or feel bad next day after a heavy drinking sesh then there is either something seriously awry or it wasn't a particuarly heavy drinking sesh!

Heavy drinking toxifies the body, leeches proteins, vitamins and minerals from the blood and generally creates a very un-natural state,of course you'll feel sad,run down, tired etc, don't worry though it's a normal reaction. A full English, plenty of fluids and some extra vit C should see you on the road to recovery though!

I don't really feel sad...but i usually feel guilty, even when i've done nothing to feel guilty about :\

I get sad after a good night out which includes booze. But then I just have another drink and it is all ok. :o

The only way to avoid hangover is stick to good vodka, not Smirnoff rubbish but good vodka like Finlandia. Sugar free mixers as well. No hangover.

It's going from a major high back to reality. Your body needs time to adjust to the lowered seratonin levels in the brain or something like that.

No hangover = a shed load of water and miltivitamins when you get in.

my hangover feels like ive been popping class a pills n have the same come down, grrrrrrr
I feel sorry for you if your hangover is that bad, coming down off speed is a *****, throwing up, shaking, sweating, feel so low you want to top yourself. It's horrifying.

I don't get how some people don't have hangovers? My hangovers when I've drank a similar amount compared to my flatmates consists of a banging headache all day, the room keeps spinning making me feel sick, and then I'm getting sick about 10 times in a day, sometimes the sensation is so bad I have to force myself to throw up by putting my fingers down my throat.

I try stick to 2 pints, even that causes me to feel abit crappy in the morning, usually causes heartburn.

Ive hit the drink on the head for the time being, due to suffering a general depression the night after drinking any thing more than a couple of glasses of whiskey.

If you drink a lot (for me 8-10 pints over an evening), that's probabaly 25-30 units of alcohol consumed, so when you wake up you are still reasonably drunk, with maybe 10-15 units in your blood stream. If you rehydrate yourself when you wake up and start eating, you can avoid it altogether.

I've stopped drinking a while back, but that's my theory.
