Does anyone know this Rover?

Re the 700bhp fwd situation, your right traction must be a right pain even with skicky rubber.

Wonder if he has launch control or something.

The greatest rover engine is the K with VVC. It would be even better if they whacked a stonking great turbo on it, which apparently they were planning on.

Obviously this is ignoring the head gasket issues that plagued these engines, especially plaguing my car right now.

Although I don't know why you'd bother with a 25, the look of them does nothing for me. On the other hand, 470bhp into a coupe, the best looking rover, would be ace.

Here is a question though whose faces are you going to wipe the smile off, i cant see it being anybody with a similar sized engine to you.

That's the point. Seeing as how it's a Rover, it must be very slow.

The guy in the Accord Type R wasn't too pleased that a Rover kept up with him today. So much in fact, that he had to perform dangerous weaving maneuvers through busy traffic to prove a point.

I think it's you who needs to get off his high horse... with all these Rover threads, one would think that'd you're actually interested in Rovers.

Yeah ok, the 25 with a T is a transplant, but it's still a Rover engine. And a very good one at that.

custom1, of course it'll have trouble getting the power down. I have enough trouble with my new car... spinning through 2nd gear in the wet. FWD + 700bhp = not going to be great at gripping, and yet it still picks up some great times.

My rule is, if you don't have a clue about something, don't bother trying to 'sound clever'. You just look like a ****!

If i wasnt interested, i wouldnt ask about the car! im always interested in something homebrew.

I dont understand why your getting your knickers in a twist over it tbh, i said it was obviously a transplant because a k series cant put that kind of power down without blowing up. and i posted because i was interested in knowing about it. its a good sleeper if it can get the power down.

T series and Rover V8's are good engines and ive never said otherwise.

Sorry if that's what it sounds like, but I'm not getting my knickers in a twist. To me this is just the usual discussion thread I can expect on OcUK :)

Oh, so you're not slating the T-series now? That's a first. From previous posts it seems to me that you were calling all Rover engines crap.

I called Rover's crap, imo you can get better for the money. Doesnt mean the engines aint good though.

Im no fan of BMW's either, i find them uninspiring, but i do like the air con.

£360 mine cost... in fact after I sell the SEi, it'll be a free upgrade.

I kept with an Accord Type R this morning. The guy was NOT happy.

Rover are so understated it's untrue.

My first car was an Escort RST, i always used to be able to keep up with the cossies - I could keep up, it doesnt mean we were racing.

So black smoke from his exhaust wasn't a sign that he was flooring it?

My 214 and 220's have blown nice chunks of black smoke out of the exhaust... only when really really going for it.

So then I guess the injectors are leaking on both my cars... oh, not forgetting the several cars I see running down drag strips blowing out black smoke.

Oh no, looks like I'll have to take the head off to sort it... damn HGF! ;)

Sorry agw dont think so.

It appears my car has a short ratio box from a Vitty fitted.

Even a fellow 220 driver said numerous times that my car is quicker than his.

Oh, and it was a '97 plate.

Cant find a 1997 accord type r.

How black was his smoke? if it was a greyish black then it could even of been worn piston rings.

Very black.

I'm not getting into this. I don't care what you guys think... I know that a man driving a Silver Honda Accord with Type R badges and twin exhaust pipes was very very angry that he couldn't pull away from me.

cymatty, ok so it wasn't a P reg. Sorry, my memory isn't perfect.

To add to that, neither was the guy in the Golf GTi (no not the new shape one, the crappy 8v one I think).

He will probably have been very very angry becuase there was something wrong with his car, if he had been driving a fully operational Accord Type R you would not have seen which way he went.

Did you have a hidden camera in his car to see how angry he was given you were behind him? Maybe he was just minding his own business, pulling away with half throttle, wondering why some kid was caning the life out of an old Rover behind him? :p

LOLLZZZ! OMGZ FOX YOU'RE SO FUNNY! :D :p

I've already said that my car has got a Vitesse gearbox. They were geared for something like 7.6 to 60.

Of course, my car doesn't have as much power as the Vitty, but it's definitely quicker than my mates 220 with a 220 box... a lot quicker he said.

If anyone has a G-Meter, I'll gladly borrow it off you and try some runs.
