I've been feeling the same ever since I tried the N64 on a flatscreen. Blurred to buggery and practically unplayable. I've still got a 15" but boy is that small. Can't believe I used to game on that.

I'm afraid to say I don't miss my Sony FQ80 32" widescreen at all. It had to live in my dining room by itself for he last 5-6 years of its life after I got my first HD LCD tv, until I finally got rid. I actually had to physically destroy it in order to chop it in to small enough bits to take to the tip. It had a great picture in its day, but widescreen CRT's did get stupidly massive in those days. I still have a couple of 21" 4:3 crts though which have not yet been binned, one of which is another Sony. Safe to say I am a Sony-phile to be honest, I've not had a non-Sony TV since about 1990.

I got my first ever Sony TV last year and i must say that i like the image. You can tell that they put some effort into the image quality.

The Cinema preset is actually really good,

Yes, and in 3D.

Do you have a recommendation on the CRT filter you use?

Honestly no. There are so many of them I tend just to stick to a preset I like, think last one was called Royale Intel or something. They have so many, some really nail poor RF TV quality from back in the day too.
I simply installed retroarch and just clicked through all the CRT ones.
