Does anyone use their bike to commute?

My bike (CBF125) is my only transport. I did have an S2000 but sold it to save for a house deposit. Having just the bike I've saved a fortune. Insurance is very cheap, tax, fuel, servicing I do myself. I commute 10 miles a day. With the car as it was a joy to drive I would often drive for the sake of it so my fuel bills per month would be £200. Now my fuel bill is £25.

What do you guys do for workwear?

Do you ride to work in your suit/ shirt and pants + motorbike jacket?

I use a Quick Lock tank bag. I roll my trousers up in there and change in my office when I get to work. That's only when it gets chilly though. In the warmer months I get away with Hood jeans :)

10 miles each way all in London traffic...eek!, but I was bit cold today (what with Richmond Park being covered in frost) but when its really chucking it down in the mourning I sometimes wimp out and take the Car.

I used to use the RSV for commuting to work until our son came along in March earlier this year. Now it's not really an option as we've settled into a routine of swapping cars at places on the way to work, doing baby handovers and dropping him off at my folks house near my work for babysitting duties. I think the feds would have something to say if I strapped the wee fella onto the pillion seat on the Mille. :p

My current commute is a 36 mile round trip and to be honest, if ever I get the opportunity to use something other than the car I generally choose to do it on two wheels but not the RSV - I cycle instead. Finally, job - I'm a Crew Commander in the Fire & Rescue Service.

Cycle 36 miles? Crazy!

It's not too bad m8, really sets me up for a days / nights work. I love it. Takes me about an hour or so to get in. Then shower, bite to eat and ready to take on the world.

Still commuting though now my left grip doesn't heat and things are starting to freeze! (including my hand)

Nope, bike for me is more of a toy than a commuter (K5 GSXR600) and it is currently SORN'ed anyway, but I have come to work on it during the summer when I know I will be in the office all day and not out for meetings
