does arsenal need more strikers?

Didn't Ferguson enquire about Adebayor in January and was politely told to go away?

Thanks for the email btw. :) Much appreciated dude.

Ignore the post in the Dexter thread.

Wasn't aware of us going after Adebayor. That would have been an interesting signing for us

He was being sarcastic towards the first persons post.

Edebeyer = Adebayor
Brenter = Bendtner.
I'd have thought that had he not mis-spelt the OP's mis-spelling of Bendtner.

As it is I think his excuse of sarcasm is nothing more than that. An excuse :)

Fair enough, never noticed I did that. But yes you're 100% correct, I clearly thought it was spelt Edebeyor :rolleyes:

It was clear that it was sarcasm, didn't even need to be brought up any further.

It looked that way given the other name you didn't spell correctly, nor in the way someone else didn't spell correctly.

If you're going to be sarcastic and pick up on other members mistakes you need to keep a close eye on your own posts. Those in glass houses.

It isn't my fault you failed to clearly convey your intention.

It was rumoured but I think it's highly unlikely Ferguson has ever shown even a glint of interest in Adebayor. It's embarrassing enough we have him on our books, nevermind the (current) best team in England sniffing round for him too. :D

I think we could do with one more striker, although wishing for any established top striker is completely pointless. It's not Wenger's way and there is no point debating about it. I am actually very confident Eduardo will come good and I can see him bagging a fair number of goals next season. If RVP can stay fit (and that's the only if concerning him IMO) he'll get goals, there is just no doubt about that. He's a quality player With Henry gone he is now the main man and an arrogant bugger like that will revel in it. Plus he won't have to worry about keeping Henry happy as he had to do last season (change in his play last season) and other players have too. Bendtner is a talented player too and he has goals in him, although I'm not sure how he'll do in the Premiership but he certainly cuts it at International level. Finally there is Walcott. He struggled last season through his shoulder injury but he's shown that when he gets a chance he knows how to put it away. It's just a question on whether Wenger will play him there outside the Carling Cup, or whether he'll continue to ease him in to the first team with a role on the wing.

They dont have enough strikers with a proven history of quality.

Adebayor (or whatever) cant shoot for **** although he has a habit already of scoring agaisnt us.

RVP is a lightweight who doesnt like mixing it up, but he sure can play.

Walcott from what i've seen of him is a complete waste of time unless he gets his act together, yes he's quick.................... and?

And the new guy................. dont hold your breath, could go either way.

thats the problem, you could be left no better off than last season with no Henry there to come back in.
Going to be interesting to see how it pans out for the Arsenal this season, Always a Hoot to see them knock the wind out of those spurs sails.

Suffering a bad shoulder injury which would pop out from any sort of contact made to that area. That's gonna put anyone off their game.

He's very raw but the talent is there.

As for RVP being light-weight and not wanting to mix it up, rubbish. :D Absolute rubbish.

Narh, Walcot shows promise but I think he's another Francis Jeffers. Last season when Arsenal beat Liverpool 6-2 or something in the league cup he was utter rubbish. He has no first touch, there is pace but give him space and time he doesn't know what to do with himself. It seems his brain kills his instincts, which is what he should follow since when he has no time to think he does all the best stuff.

So you mean he gets nervous and lacks maturity? Surprising for an 18 year old playing at Anfield for a cup game.

Owen did fine at 18, Rooney did fine at 16. Walcott isn't a rookie anymore, this would be his 3rd season coming up as a pro. If he can't even do the simple things well then there goes your consistency and confidence and there goes playing regularly.

Well comparisons are just that, Walcott is just a lad and I think will be a very good player in a few years. Owen and Rooney are very rare talents that it wouldn't be fair to judge Walcott against.

Don't get me wrong, I want him to do well, from glimpses of what he can do for England U-21 you can see he does have the talent. But when it counts he just not turn in on.
