Hi, i've recently installed a second HDD (500GB Seagate) into my Dell Dimension 5150 (Pentium (R) 4 CPU 3.20 GHz 3.19GHz, 1.00 GB RAM) and just wondered if the CPU has to work any more now that two drives are present on the system?

I didn't think it would, but the fan's seem to be working a lot harder since, especially when watchin iplayer or Youtube.

As they've both said already, no, and you would get a little more heat

make sure your cpu cooler is dust free under the fan

cheers for that, will check for dust under the fan, probably needs a good clean anyway. By the way, what is the best method for clearing dust out of the components? I take it blowing furiously is recommended?!
