Does GT5 look better than real life?

What do you suppose they think of our language then? disgusting comment to make.

This is the biggest ****ing overreaction I have ever seen.

Wrong side of bed this morning?

Not really, had a great day today!

In case you weren't aware, you have posted a link that is in Japanese, with nothing but off-screen shots, and touched up images. It's hardly anything anyone can gleam useful information from.

Its got a video, a nice big fat one at the top......

Looks good, still not 100% realistic but I think that would make the game less fun (i.e. slight glare on window missing, all that shaking about missing, etc).

There is a video on that page (I don't know how you have missed it?), which I assume is what he was referring to.
It looks like it is showing the exact real lap someone did in a car, in GT5 (iirc there is a new tool that lets you upload certain laps done, on certain tracks, from certain cars, into GT5 and "relive" your exact lap).

The overall effect, in the video is very close to the camera mounted in the car when the "real" lap was driven.

I think this is the biggest overreaction tbh:
Thanks for the site in a gibberish language filled to the brim with bullshots

The in-game graphics part of the comparison looks as if it was on a dull weather day. One problem is that it is also way too smooth, if it had a shaky cam effect like in the real life part, then it could be a lot more convincing.

Nice video, but have you actually played Prologue or the time trial demo? The tracks are lifeless and bland compared to the actual cars themselves. Flat textures, 2d crowds, basic models, etc

It's a nice looking game, where the focus is on the cars which are the best modeled in the industry but people have got to be kidding me when they say it's anything remotely like real life. It's 60FPS for a good reason and I'd wager that any PS4 Gran Turismo would use the cars again but more focus on the tracks themselves.

I think this is the biggest overreaction tbh:

Haha ok

It's quite impressive how the car in the game behaves almost identically to the real life car. Obviously it's when things go wrong that car physics fall on their faces but it's good to see they've sorted out the handling pretty well.

[EDIT] Good post in the end Knives :p. I agree that GT5P is miles from comparable to real life, even in replays with the touched up AA etc. As said above though i did appreciate the movie at least for comparison in car behaviour... assuming the game video was actually in-game and not some preanimated stuff.

I agree the smoothness is what really tells them apart, but I cant help feeling that it would get annoying to play if the screen is shaking and you yourself arent?

The obvious difference is the cockpit shaking.

This may not be important to many, but after playing the simbin games on pc, it certainly creates the 'Driving at Speed' atmosphere that seems to be lacking in GT and Forza.
