i get where OP is coming from because this winter im driving a 115bhp automatic 1.5 tonne estate with ten foot of suspension travel
until then i had been driving a 25 year old golf with hard suspension and a tuned engine on twin carbs all year every day (not all that many mile still) but i paid less for the shed of an estate than my fuel would be costing !
last week i got in the golf for first time in a few months and had been thinking about selling it because of how unpractical. took 10 minutes to fall back in love with it. it had became 'normal' when i was driving it every day but last week it was more of an event.
