Does how you are personally perceived affect how your threads/posts are seen?

I just find it interesting that while on the one hand we have forumers so concerned about people's reactions to their posts that they would go so far as to get a new username so they can be free of the preconceptions people have of them, others actually thrive on their infamy and take pleasure in baiting their detractors!
 
Of course it does. I often find myself disregarding opinions from people I think are "stupid" in SC, and disagreeing with those I typically disagree with regardless of the merits of their arguments (sup VIRII :cool:).

In 99.99% of cases I realise what I'm doing and rein myself in, though.
