I think his point is thats not a S1 focus ESP button.
Just because a.n.other car can have it turned off doesn't mean the focus can.
Loads of mercs have traction control buttons where you can turn the system off and it still comes back on if you really overcook it. Every car is different.

I read it more as an "ESP can't be turned off in general" comment, and the image was intended as a slightly comical "here's a huge ESP off button". This may have been my mis-interpretation.
As you mention, some cars can and some can't have their ESP turned of (I believe many new Toyotas can not have ESP turned off easily).
I am however confident that the ESP can be turned off on the Focus, which is now supported by the Ford manual and by me asking for confirmation on the Ford Focus Owners Club.
