Im sorry Im struggling a little to understand. Are you saying you have to go into the BIOS everytime you boot to change to AHCI or are you saying you don't know how to get in the BIOS or that it wont work even when you change it to AHCI?

no im saying it doesnt detect SSd first time you boot in AHCI mode , so i have to go in to bios change it back to IDE that makes it detectable . then when it is detected on ide mode i change it to ahci as running in ide would be slower.

and its fine till you not should down your pc

I have a similar problem with OCZ drives. It's only when I mess around with the boot order and do some other things however.

Don't keep changing it from AHCI to IDE and back again. Is the SSD is connected to Sata port 1 on the motherboard?

I would be inclined to look for a BIOS update here and/or Firmware update for the SSD. You could also try disabling quick boot in the BIOS to see if this has any effect.

yea it is agility 3 60 gig.

how do i update firmware never had to do it previously ,

im ruining before latest bios on mob can try updating it to latest.

it only happens on cold boot when pc is off for while.

Try disabling other boot devices. Make sure if you have more than one hard drive connected that the OCZ is the primary drive detected in the BIOS and it's also set as the first boot device.

oh i see so mostly everyone has this issue (cold boot on ocz agility) ;/ well my firmware is 2.06 trying to update it to 2.36 says "firmware update not supported on primary drive"

so is it due with firmware they going to fix it later on or SSD faulty it self ?

edit: also i seen that some kind of hot-swap could help if it is enabled in bios were abouts is it

when i had a look at updating an osz ssd, it says you ant jump firmware you need to go:

d -> e -> f -> g

you cant jump from d-g :)

i think 2.36 is for vertex 3 thats why it doesn't update the agility 3 as it doesn't have any newer firmware then 2.06 atm i think?

should they not work properly out of the box tbh ?
