Does the S2000 have traction control?

Surely you buy a sports car to use the traction control added as standard to all models of human, i.e. your right foot.
If you're worried about traction control, buy a TT.
 
Maybe I'm just a wimp but with the crappy winter weather coming up and the slippy roads that go with them I'd feel much hapier with TC on my powerful RWD car :o
 
All kinds of people buy S2000's. Some can drive, some can't. Some know how to handle the car in the wet, some can't.

Handy to have if maybe it's peeing down or you lend the car to your missus. :eek:

FWD but I won't let my fiancee drive my car simply because it's a bit of a livewire & if she gets torque steer it'll rip her arms off. :)

s2000's dont need traction control they dont have enough torque to scare a half way competent driver, unless you drop the clutch at 9k on a roundabout you are never going to have anything worry about

There's always the F22C1 engined versions - increased stroke for 2.2l displacement, lower rev limit but peak torque occurs earlier and there's more of it. Makes it slightly less of a screamer, but it's also slightly less hard work keeping it properly on the boil.

Yeah the yanks can't drive, so Honda had to dumb the car down for them.

FYI, the Japanese market S2000s have that engine as well now. I take it they can't drive as well, despite designing the car in the first place?

In fact, the European market is the only place that the S2000 can be bought new with the F20C engine. The F22C1 replaced the earlier engine completely in Japan for the 06 model year.

God help those poor diesel turbo drivers in the wet, their cars must be lethal with all that torque!!

Not sure if that's sarcasm or not, but anyway...

Having owned an S2000 I would say that with the standard Bridgestones they are suicidal in the wet unless you feather the throttle. I could powerslide on demand around mini-roundabouts just dabbing the throttle - lots of fun while people are sat there open-mouthed (disclaimer: not big or clever).

I'm surprised the newer ones have traction control though, has there been another revision since the 2004 change?

The decision to dumb the car down was borne out of the Amercian market.

Increasing the displacement means dropping the revs. Dropping the revs means longer gears.

Net result - the car is no faster than it's 2.0 screaming counterpart, in fact, it may even be slower, but it suits a lazier driver.

The increase in torque has achieved jack **** imo.

Insurance was probably killing sales to be honest, so they added TC as a safety feature.

The S2000 is quite a lot more to insure than an ZM3 Coupe for me.
