Does this depress anyone else?

might take my 1.25 zetec to pumaspeed now for a puma 1.7 racing engine conversion and turbo.

do it, the 1.7 swap is good to start with, but turboing it would be even better :D

160bhp fwd mini faster than a murcielago around a windy road with awd and a dedicated ecu to keep it and its 500+bhp stuck to the road, I think not!! it would be a handful yes, but slower than a mini, you have to be joking!
I kind of see where you coming from but your way off.

your forgetting one key factor. The Driver.

Remember the Top gear article where clarkson tryed to repeat his lap on laguna seca for real, that he got on GT3 ?

he just couldnt do it, but the racing driver could. And clarkson was making a fast time, as good as most enthusiast racers do round there. But there is just something at the back of your mind that in most people takes over and prevents you from pushing the car too far.

in cars like the murcielago, its just that little bit more scary pushing your car to its limits round the B5576 or whatever than it is in something more mundane like a mini. Unless your a very talented driver, you just cant use that extra power that the lambo has on tight twisting B roads.

yes the murcielago would be wild if you attempted to use all of its power, but why would you need to push it so hard against a fwd mini when your in a murcielago?? just think about it, the lambo has much more mechanical grip, more stability, better weight distribution, better power distribution, better road holding, so for a given speed the lambo would feel much safer, this gives the lambo the edge over the mini. hell clarkson said the murcielago was so easy to drive on public roads it would all to often get you in trouble.
basically you could drive the murcielago well within its limits and it would feel predictable on the road, while the mini would be understeering on it tractable limits. do you see what i mean?

a mini in no cercumstance would be quicker than a murcielago, unless it was on a go kart track and the murcielago couldnt fit in the pits :D
