Does this depress anyone else?

You got to smile at that, the fact that a Saxo can beat an M3.

If memory serves me correctly, this is repost and it was pointed out last time that it was a 328 sport or something and not an M3.

It sounds like an M3 to me, has that really tinny wierd engine noise they all make
I really don't like that noise, they sound like they've got a loose heatshield.

It's an M3.

Thats quality that is, nothing better than taking the smug look of the bmw's drivers face i bet :D

Sounds like its from Crail as well going by the announcers acsent.

pretty sure its the individual throttle bodies that retain that tail tail metallic sound, the valve train is simply not muted on the European m3 engines.
Just reminds me of race nasp race engines, damn I love the S54 straight six engine!!

that was my first thought when I first drove mine until I realised that they all sound like that :)

Doesn't really do anything for me. I don't particularly care too much for Beemers but I'd rather have one over a Saxo if I'm honest. Furthermore a small car with an engine tweaked to buggery doesn't really make it a better car imo. However I can respect the work done to it, and kudos to the guy in the Saxo for doing that work to his car. It is nice to see a car like the M3 getting spanked (no offence Rotty :p but only if the owner is a typical M3 driver and person of course ;)), however I'd rather see a BMW's driver's face being spanked by a car in it's class - such as an Audi or something like that. Especially if he has little or no knowledge of cars and has bought an M3 thinking it is faster than a Porsche etc..

As for round the track, I still think the BMW would have it - it wasn't exactly that far behind the Saxo - it even was ahead for a while. Secondly it would be better round the corners IMO.

Hmmm I wonder which is more comfortable though

Anyway I would like to see that saxo attempt to beat a Audi RS4. If it did then I would be impressed. :)

id rather drive an M3 with a 1.1 engine that ANY sort of saxo. FFS its a saxo. Does it make it a better car?

and in real life does drag racing really matter? NO!

leave the chavs to bling up their ******** and Ill travel in comfort with a lovely rumbling straight 6.

No swearing. Read the FAQs

fully star that out, read the rules.

i dont understand all the "its only a saxo FFS, id rather have the beemer". If you wanted a fast car for the purpose of being a fast car, which would you have?

Youd have the fast car, wouldnt you?. who cares if its 'only a saxo ffs', its faster than the beemer and that's what the guy wanted. putting silly body kits on learner cars is one thing, making a saxo faster than an m3 is ace.

id still have the beemer, more scope for improvement.
if you had the money would you really buy a heavily modded saxo of buy a nice m3 and build from there?

im not sure why everyone is suprised when its running 200bhp.

Not surprised. Saxo is a featherweight. Standard Saxo 1.1i goes from 0-60 at respectable 12.9 sec so don't be surprised about VTS.

I had AX 1.1i and it kiss a goodbye to Vauxhall Cavalier 1.7TD in drag race. ;) Okay, I know diesel wasn't that great at that time. :D

LOL at the bitter people claiming it's nothing special having a fast tin can.

The saxo driver is after performance, and from thet point of view it beats the M3 in a drag race. Oh wait... they go round corners too, even though they are 'wrong wheel drive'. ;)

Yes the BMW is more luxurious, that goes without saying, and is irrelevant for some people. But it is probably solwer.

The saxo is modded, the BMW is stock standard.
Mod the BMW up and lets see who wins

Much as I love BMW's, Saxo + mods = cheaper than stock BMW.

Price doesnt mater in the theory i just displayed imo :o

The Price limit/income of the Saxo owner is enough to mod his saxo.
The Price limit/income of the BMW owner should be enough to mod the BMW the same amount the saxo has had been modded even though it will cost more
