Im after some sort of space adventure game,

Basically i want something were i can get in a space ship and fly around and land on planets and do stuff, Mass effect does the sort of thing im after but on a very basic scale. Im not fussed about shooting and blowing stuff up i just want a space game were i can explore planets and alien races etc

Does a game like iv described above exist ? Iv looked at a few space sim games and the ones iv seen like elite dangerous you dont seem to be able to go and explore planets and leave your space ship???

The ability to land and explore planets is just kicking off in Elite Dangerous with the Horizons addon though its in early days yet.

I've not seen a game that satisfactorily does what you are asking for that isn't extremely basic or still very early work in progress.

There is No Man's Sky but meh I'm no fan of progressively/procedurally generated content in that context - once you've seen one instance the rest is just iterations with different wallpaper.

With Elite Dangeorus: Horizons you can leave your ship and explore with a buggy. Star Citizen is.. getting there. But as above No Mans Sky is probably your best bet for what you want.

Eve has no planetary landing and planetary interaction is even more bland than the resource gathering thing in ME2.

This. I can see the appeal of it as it has very deep mechanics and a good player driven/controlled world but the presentation and gameplay are barely above text-based adventure games.

Ohh thought it was the opposite I nearly bought that earlier thank god

Isn't star citizen really expensive to get into I'm not sure what I'm doing if steam doesnt do things for me ha

Kotor games? Star trek 25th anniversary game? Or the online mmo one. Freelancer but not a lot of planetary interaction.

Star citizen when finished should be the best bet.

I have to say the elite is a great game. I haven't tried the horizons update with the planetary landing, but the base game is very immersive.

No Man's Sky sounds like the best bet. Elite I backed early so have a lifetime pass, but still not really complete enough to hold my interest, I'm going to hang on for atmospheric landing before I get involved properly.

Star Citizen is still a couple of years away I'd think.

Have you looked at Grav? No spaceflight but amazing planets, exploration and building, with travel between planets via stargates.
