In all seriousness though, it's got to end up taking longer to type like that, unless when he thinks of the work he thinks "c", because to be honest I can type nearly as fast as I'm thinking it, there really is no time saved in typing like that unless you're really new to computers, but even then there's no reason to stop yourself being able to type more quickly as you get used to it. It was just about acceptable before T9 predictive texts and when people needed to keep character counts down for texts... but nowadays there's really no point in my opinion, and that's coming from a 15 year old

Frankly with texts being so cheap now and phone screens getting bigger and better there isn't even such great need for "txt" speak anymore, but it is here to stay unfortunately. I do hate it, particularly when there isn't need for it.

This. I have no problem with text speak per se but when it's used when there is no need for it except for people being too lazy to type a few extra letters it annoys me hellishley.

Language is critical to conscious thought. Finding a deliberate attempt to degrade language annoying is not being a snob. It's defending the main thing that makes us human.

It's not about being extremely picky about correct grammar and syntax. I don's use English completely correctly and I'm not complaining about it. So it's not taking an extreme position, it's not elitist and it's not wrong. Anyone who responds with the word 'nazi' is an idiot devoid of understanding.

Yep, deserves to be removed from the gene pool.

But its all ok because we can understand it once we have taken a while to decipher it so why bother. I advocate the complete removal of the english language in favour of allowing the lowest common denominator to dictate the direction of the british tongue.

All it does is make you look remedial when you cannot manage to fit those tricky vowels into your words.
