Dog 'Attack' Advice Request

Nothing really to add.

She has no case against you. Three times she failed to control her animal.

The first time, you can kinda put it down to boystrous energy of the dog, forgivable with an apology from the uncontrolled owner.
The second time is the fault of the owner, she should have leashed her dog after the first time
The third time is just pure negligence of the uncontrolled dog's owner, having failed to leash her animal.

You also need to remember that your dog gave the other one 2 warnings before it snapped at it. From the sound of your post it was a defensive/warning snap and not an offensive assault.

What everyone else said really.
Your dog was on a lead. The out of control dog was warned off on 2 previous occasions. The owner had 2 opportinities to put thiers on a lead or move to a different space, but did not.

Problem is what evidence do you have or witnesses to her dog been of the lead?

Watched two blokes having a full on boxing match due to a similar situation.

ALL dogs should be on a lead at all times, my niece hates dogs coming up to her but you know 'my biggles is a good dog and wouldn't hurt a fly ' so what she moaning for.

That and when they come and jump up at you covered in mud, amount of arguments with dog owners over this, yes I do mind having your muddy dog jumping up at me.

I'm sure everyone has at least one dog nowadays I'm feeling left out.

Is this some kind of inception? I had a Boxer dog called Biggles. Both words are in your post. Are you watching me?

As a dog owner of a nervous and reactive dog, people who let their dogs run riot really annoy me. She should be the one apologising as her dog was out of control!

That would very much be my stance as well. :)

As an owner of a small dog (mini dachsund) i'm always paranoid about being out walking and a dog not on a lead coming upto him. Thankfully our little fella mostly doesn't take any interest in other dogs and will happily plod on by.

@Hive good on you for having yours on a lead that should work massively in your favour. It's one of my biggest pet peeves - dogs not on a lead. If your dog has great recall then it's absolutely fine, but 9/10 dogs i see on our walks don't have good recall and always pester our little fella. Whilst i fully appreciate that's a dog thing to do - go up and have a sniff of another dog. But it's when they try and keep following him and even when the owner calls the dog they don't listen. I had to have a go at some guy yesterday because his frenchie kept trying to sniff our dog and he wasn't even calling it back. Ours would snap and bite back if he felt he had to defend himself, and that's exactly the reason why we always keep him on a lead.

I would all be for a punishment to the owner by way of a large fine for dogs being out of control. It's just one of those unfortunate things that would be almost impossible to police.
