A chimp would destroy any breed of dog, they are strong as hell. They would also destroy plenty of animals bigger and stronger than a dog.

There's not a Dog alive that could beat an Adult Male Chimpanzee in a fight, though to be fair Dogs are pack animals, not one on one fighters

She didn't believe me when I said they had fangs as long as you're fingers. If I wouldn't keep a Lion I wouldn't keep something like that at home.

What world do you live in? A fully grown man could kill most any dog. They might take some injuries in the process of course, but a dog is not a mortal threat. A chimpanzee is.

OK - unless (say) a pit bull got it by the throat a male chimp would probably win such an encounter. Unlike the superficially similar bonobo, chimpanzees are aggressive and territorial and like to hunt and kill their rivals and will eat monkeys and even other chimpanzees. Best not to get on the wrong side of one, really.

Chimps are far too intelligent and don't need to fight anyone. It will simply climb a tree and throw coconuts at stupid dog, then dog will go mad and go home and eat it's owners children instead.

Don't assume that chimps won't attack in packs. Thinking about our furry cousins I remember reading about wars between groups of chimps - and a quick Google gives us:

Chimps are strong as hell, no dog could kill a chimp.

Dogs are pack animals and would kill a chimp in no time but one on one no chance.

Now cats on the other hand would kill a chimp, not domestic of course but panthers and leopards would take them down quick. Would be a good fight to see actually.

A chimp as at least 5x stronger than a human, a gorilla 10x. Humans are puny. Genetic reduction probably (If you don't need it, you lose it in evolutionary terms. Same principle as flightless birds etc)

Although it would be a little closer and the wolf would have a better chance than most dogs, but the chimp still has the advantage of reach and strength..
