Dogs and fireworks, suggestions.

Our 12 week old lab pub couldn't give two F's, think its because her parents are both gun dogs and she spent her first 8 weeks being surrounded by shooting etc.

However our 6 year-old springador is not having a good time this year.

Teach them early by playing some decent fireworks videos on youtube.

Don't react and enjoy them so the dog will learn to be excited also.

Take them for a walk when fireworks are about and enjoy the walk as normal.

Ideally do all of these from a young age, rather than acting like a "furbaby parent".

Border collies are the worst for reactions to fireworks. Have/had friends and family having them and they get very frightened.

My mum had a border collie as a child and she used to hide in the smallest space possible and shake. Plus living on the coast during the spring/summer had boat races from the beach. The starting boom used to shake her dog as well.

Im not keen on the fireworks that sound like massive bombs going off.

My dog has always been good at this time of the year and never seems to pay any attention to the pops and bangs. I do also think that the background sound from the TV helps too.

Been very lucky with our Cockapoo, she seems to love the noise, bangs, whistles, the sound of fireworks fizzing. Really surprised us, only had her for two weeks, from a family member who could no longer keep her, a two year old bundle of fun, and i'm no dog lover by any mean's.
