Hi Overclockers,

I've recently received my copy of windows 8 pro with my OCZ 120GB SSD and am looking for tips in mind of a gaming build. In total I have 2 Samsung 1TB drives and my 120gb ssd and I'm unsure how to set them up for the best performance for gaming and general system responsiveness.

My BIOS has 3 options in the advanced section, IDE, ACHI and RAID. Initially I was led to believe that in order to get the most of my SSD I had to install windows 8 whilst the bios was set to ACHI mode, but my boot times are not much quicker than they was on 7 when my two 1tb drives where set up in raid 0?

What I want to know is should I set my bios to raid mode then configure the two Samsung drives to act as a raid drive, or should I set it on ACHI (which it is now) and leave them as two separate drives? Because I initially had it set up like this but there was no ACHI driver installed on the system and assumed my 15 seconds + windows loading screen times where due to this.

If somebody could give me help I'd really appreciate it as I want to get this sorted as I have a new GPU coming tomorrow and I'll be eager to see all my current games on their "stupidly high" settings :)

Thanks in advance!

[Edit]

Solved!
RAID mode was the answer!
