I may be naive here, but why does he insist on knowing where the reporter is from, or which senators have said whatever?? Surely facts are facts, and it doesn't matter who is asking the question, or who said what. He just can't be impartial.

Also, the statement is wrong. It's wrong if you look at total deaths per population. It's wrong if you look at new deaths per population. It's wrong if you look at the most recent day's deaths per population. It's just plain wrong. The USA is about average.

I think the log scale is a bit misleading.
Either way though, the USA is way earlier than the likes of France, UK, Italy Spain.
Their death rate curve still isn't levelling off. They will be a lot closer in a few weeks.
It's also interesting that by using a per capita number, Trump is basically saying any single death is less important in the US than say the UK. Lives worth less over there?
The site offers the choice of log or linear. Both are useful. Neither are perfect.

The graphs for deaths on that site are counted from the first death in the country, so they accurately compare each country on exactly the same timescale. The USA is not "way earlier than the likes of France, UK, Italy Spain" on those graphs. Same goes for the other data shown on that site.

TBF, I think the planet would be better off without Trump on it. But 'per capita' isn't something you can bash him on really.
No they don't? They take a normalised starting point of X number of cases. The first graph being taken when each country hit 100 cases, the second when they hit 20 etc

I do not see it, we have a good relationship with Russia and we worked on the oil deal together. I was with-by telephone, and the king of Saudi Arabia, and the president of Russia, we worked out a deal on oil that was an important deal to them and us and Saudi Arabia. I worked with Putin and with the king on that. -- Putin. President Putin was a total gentleman. it was important to get that John -- import to get that done. -- it was important to get that done. The king was great. We brought in Mexico. North Korea, I see the are testing short range missiles. They have been doing it a long time. I received a nice note from him recently. It was a nice note. I think we are doing fine. look, if I was not elected you would be at war with North Korea. For people who do not understand the world and how life works. Maybe the war would be over. I think we are doing very well. you said Russia. you said China. you said North Korea. Iran. When I came in, Iran was a terror. we had 82 points of fighting, 18 points of confliction. The first week, I said tell me about Iran. Sir, we have 18 points of confliction, meaning Yemen, Syria, Iraq. they're a much different nation now. I stopped that deal, horrible, and they want to talk. Kerry made the deal and does not want them to make a deal -- John Kerry made the deal and does not want them to make a deal. Stupid deal. He made the deal originally. Gave them a $1.8 billion in cash. You could fill up this room 10 times with hundred dollar bills, it is not that small a room. I think it was a major violation and we would have had a deal if it was not for John Kerry but he does not want to be number one embarrassed and never to he said which laughter the election. -- wait until after the election. Maybe Sleepy Joe Biden is going to win. And if Sleepy Joe Biden wins, China will own the United States. China has paid us, you know, from the wall street journal, hundreds of billions of dollars in tariffs and we get a lot of that money, small percentage but a lot of the money to the farmers and it kept the farmers going great, all right? we are getting tens of billions of dollars in tariffs. for those of you who say we are paying, China devalued their currency in order to pay. they also added money into their system. I think you have numerous countries waiting to see who went. -- who will win. Go back, two months, and China was supposed to catch us. For years I have heard that China will catch us. But they said China would catch us in 2019. And before the problem, China was having the worst year they had and 67 years and now they are getting really hurt and so is everybody getting hurt. I do not want them to get hurt but they're all getting hurt, everybody is getting hurt, it is admirable thing that has happened, but we had the greatest economy -- it is a horrible thing that has happened. But we had the greatest economy by far and China is not even close and we will keep it that way. But Iran is a much different country than it was. When I first came in around was going to take over the entire middle east and right now they just want to survive. they're having protests every week. I have offered to help them if they want. If they need ventilators, which they do, I would send them ventilators. We have thousands of excess ventilators coming in and here we have a stockpile of ventilators and we are starting to send them so hospitals can fill up their stockpile, which they should have. Perhaps it has to be fed through an Enigma type machine to make any sense. Obviously his supporters understand it to the letter with them being on a similar wavelength.

You're probably right. I watched his briefing live last night and they have a morbid fascination. It's clear he has no idea what he's talking about and his behaviour towards the press is extraordinary. He begins by asking them who they represent and then hurls abuse at those networks that don't blindly follow his narrative, that's before they've asked a question. He's obviously playing to his base but towards the rest of the world he looks like a colossal **** wit.I think a babel fish would probably be better
