Why use a mouse mat? In 99% of cases there is absolutely no need. Especially since the "mouse balls" have become extinct.

When ever I have a mat it's just in the way. Why restrict your whole arm movement and space to a little circle or square?

(Yes I'm a bit bored)

I dont get using a Mouse.:p

I prefer using a large trackball. (Old Kensington expert mouse Pro, though sadly some of the original functionality is lost on win10 because the ***** haven't thought to provide updated operating software, See also HP officejet G95 printer! )

Why use a chopping board when you can just use your kitchen worktop?
That's a good answer. Like it.

My desk is an Ikea thing . Bleached maple veneer or somesuch. My Logitech G502 doesn't glide anything like as well as it does on the (gasp) Dell XPS mousemat I use. I love this mat. It works very very well. So much so that I paid a blooming fortune to replace it when the original wore out (had to import it from the states)

It's aluminium based with a funky coating.

Well If I run my fingers over the desk and then the mouse mat. Chalk and cheese.

Seriously.

PS. I never got on with cloth or bespoke "gaming mats". The Dell one is flat and heavy. It's as tactile as *** not acceptable *** and I couldn't live without it. Which is why I imported two at the same time.[/COLOR]

Had my Icemat since my LAN gaming days (around the era of Insomnia 18), when you couldn't guarantee that your desk would be flat and level, let alone smooth.

Used it ever since, not replaced it because I don't think there's anything like it (frosted glass).

Get a big one cheapskate

How bloody dare you.

Desk is cold

Ultimately it all boils down to comfort.

Why wear pants if you've got nothing to be ashamed about? Well they're comfortable that's why, keeps the breeze out

I like the massive ones so much, that i got one for work too much to the envy of a few colleagues.
