As the title says.
Don't you hate it when you install a game and you need to choose a unique in-game name, so you use your usual one and find that it's already been taken, and then you spend forever trying to think of a new in-game name that you like and want to use.

Last example for me was GTA V, as you are required to enter your nickname for social club and it needs to be unique.
Which when the nickname I've been using for the last 17 years was taken proved to be extremely annoying.

Anyone divised a trick or easy way to come up with new nicknames when needed?
 
Usually mine isn't too bad but I have been on a couple of games where it has been mysteriously taken. I have alternates that I can use that I have kept consistent across games but it is annoying :D
 
Or when I have an old pre-existing account for a game platform with my usual name which is botched due to the publisher's incompetence and have to make a new account for more recent games :|
 
It's quite rare where I experience my IG name being used. That just makes it all the more annoying when it actually happens though :)
 
Mine is always taken apart from when I had it as my wow login usernam before it was changed to email addresses and my char called haz too. Now It's impossible

This. This is the very worst. Happened with me and Microsoft when my payment method expired for Xbox live. They banned my account permanently, but didn't delete the account, so I had to make a new one. Massive PITA!

This could be the case regarding the rockstar social club as I'm pretty sure I had an account for it years ago with my usual nickname. Now the details of this, and any email account that it may have been tied too are long gone, as it's not tied to the onlyaccount that has been round that long.

Just need to put my thinking cap on and come up with something I don't hate. lol
 
the best names are ones you could imagine someone calling you in real life, so not "snip3z1337ghostcannon" for example.

Something like your name...lets say chris...followed by something innocuous but not completely random. So lets say chris likes to eat beans...Chrisbeans.

Virtually never happens, but name is based around three different names anyway, and I use a mixture depending how I feel at the time of sign up.
Am I feeling like a deity, a sea slug, or the inventor of welding.
 
I hate it when adolf hamster is apparently not allowed, i realise its an obvious link to a certain well known austrian, but i tend to feel sorry for anyone who's real name is adolf every time it happens (surprisingly there are folk still called that)
 
Unless it's a old game I'm only just starting to play usually I can get my normal tag. If I can't I just make a slight variation.
 
Only get Pegasus in a few games where I get in early (Armored warfare ftw!).

If not I usually just add xGBHx to the front as per my forum name, and then I only use x as some games don't allow [ or ]
