Doobydoobydoo

Mountain Mods dispatched the replacement back panel and 2 x sr-2 trays in sky white today fingers crossed middle of next week and teh trusty screwdriver will be ready and waiting.

Panels are stuck firm in the hands of HM Customs and Excise, they're sheets of metal not fissionable material for crying out loud :(

Will start off by loosing the 2 illuminated switches and going for a plain look.

Am having a good mooch about but cant see much, am quite keen on covering the screw thread on the case internal might try tubing any ideas?

Gotta love customs they took me for the equivalent of a gtx 460, on the plus side can pick me bits and bobs up tommorrow, pics of shiny stuff to follow :)

Maybe i can finally get cracking on this build?
The more i look at it the more i am thinking this is going to take a lot longer than i thought. Sure i can set it up for a dry run but still waiting on some bits then a few paint jobs, doesn't help having flu so will leave it for another few days.
Still its good to know the main bits n bobs are here :)

"packed by Brian" cheers Brian if you should be wandering past :)

Oooh.. pretty.

Let me know if you need any help :) I promise not to drool.

:) You guys have helped me a lot more than i could have hoped (gush time:D) but i allways appreciate the offer and i might just need it.
Must thank you for throwing me into utter confusion on the ati multibeam thingummy wotsit, am waiting till the end of the month to see if this rumoured gtx 590 or 595 surfaces, mind you if the figures are good it could be a complete colour change ;)

Slow but sure...slow being the keyword.
It looked big enough with one mobo tray and back panel but with the replacement it seems to be taking on huge proportions.

Might have a potter with the mobo trays tonight/tommorrow :)

Aye she is that and if she ever left this house it'd be heading straight back to yours ;)

Watercooling - mmwwwahahahahaaaaaa not a hope in hell, note the clearance at the front and the strategically placed rad  Mr W3bbo sah....i errr really think you ought to consider watering your new build lol :D

Got both mobo trays in now, decided not to sacrifice 2nd window view so inverted tray it has to be.

Last thing i wanted to do was drill the case but the security flanges don't quite line up, will leave that untill i do a dry run with the board in just to be sure.

Am well happy with the case itself bit dissapointed that i won't be able to do conventional watercooling with rads etc.

Yeah i could manage the 2 triple rads vertically but by the time i add the fans they will overshadow the mobo tray by 1" or more and it would start to look hemmed in if you know what i mean.

The top 120.2 spacing will house a small hd rack so thats out lol, similar to the one you had attached to the rear fan.

Might have to be a chiller at the end of the day but not 100% keen on the idea, am sat pondering over it now :)

Plain (boring) switches sound good will email you!!

Evening Mr Marine :)
I don't think it will ever be finished fully but am in it for the journey as much as anything. Feel free to chip in with any thoughts or ideas you might have am open to suggestion and criticism as normal :D

Morning Mr Loudbob sah!

Red black and silver will look amazing in that case i'm sure of it.

I got down and dirty with some braiding over the last few weeks but did not seem to be getting anywhere fast so found a nice supplier and they should be in the post next few days. It is a bit frustrating when you decide on something the readies are in place but you just cannot find stock or supply of the item(s) you want but am a firm believer in the longer something takes the greater the satisfaction.

Have not thought as far as lighting though i have removed everything including 4 cold cathodes so i can start with a clean slate.

Not entirely sure what the end result will be especially seeing as i've not decided on gpu's as yet but by the time i add a few "odd" touches it should take on a life of its own!

I wish you the best of luck with your build Mr Loudbob and am allready looking forward to some snappy snappies :)

Those 2000MHz G.Skill Trident sticks are the buisness i took a look....wowsa!

I seem to have spent the last few months waiting for stuff before i can crack on.

Must admit after a few days and the odd missing finger tip braiding bit the dust and a very reasonable chinese chappy finally delivered. The pictures don't do the cables justice they are very good quality and just the shade of "blood" red that i was after :)

So one step closer is a good thing i guess, now its just a question of keeping my finger off the buy button till the end of the month and hope nvidia pull out all the stops with the gtx590. Torn between buy now and get cracking or wait a few weeks and prey for a dual gpu......this is torture pure and simple :(

So tempting http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-143-EA

Those cables look great, sending them off is definitely the way forward if you value your sanity!

I tried it once and never again, mind you I was trying to braid the cables without removing the connector ends :p

2-3 plasters later and i knew braiding was not for me i can and will do it at somepoint but nah this way works for me. Didn't need to send em off they come like that and the wire is red too no nasty yellows or blacks showing up at the connector blocks :)

I was tempted true but would rather pay the extra for better cooling, the 480 was not all bad but if you have 4 of them in a case your ears certainly know about it :)
