Doom 3 worth it ?

Thats like playing on line and saying you didnt see who killed you.

You obviously didnt understand the game

What did you spend £2.3k on? Amp/speakers etc

Walking around a dark room, again and again with a zombie walking out of the cupboard, or even worse sandwiched between two whilst you fumble between torch (so dark cannot even shoot) or the gun is annoying. Like I said, god mode.

Yes PC audio system is £2K+

Its fun, you obviously didnt under stand what they were trying to do. All id games are dark as hell anyway.

I want model numbers

nah I'd rather play with a game with a weapon with light, advantage is you see where you're going, disadvantage is it alerts enemies. But at least you can see where you're going, and not taking .5 second to switch between flashlight and weapon. Since the zoms always step out less than 2m away you don't have the time to change before they hit you at least once. And even worse if another appears behind you. So I shoot the one in front an I'm still getting hit.

Turd.

pfft lexicon

I bet its nowhere near as good/loud/crystalclear as my technics se-a3 amplifier from the 80s before technics went all crap

It's a Marmite game for sure - caused arguments when it first came out and it still does to this day. Personally I liked it.....never jumped out of my chair so many times. Not the greatest shooter ever, sure, but a no-brainer now that it's in the bargain bin.

Doom 3 is easily one of my favourite games.

Well worth the money - in fact I think it's better than HL and HL2 added together.

And it has excellent replay value - i'm on my fifth run through now. It still doesn't fail to totally suck me in.

Not a chance, sorry. Half-Life and Half-Life 2 are classic games that are fantastic to play. Doom III isn't.

Loved Doom 1 & 2 though. And Wolfenstein 3D. 3D Realms games just seemed lack something, Quake 4 was boring too.

Pfft. HL and HL2 are alright games, but nothing special at all. HL2 in particular is pretty mundane.

Half Life 2 had story, character and enjoyable to play. And puzzle solving, buggy and boat driving. Doom 3 was a plod fest. Not scary, just annoying.

Half Life 2 had story

The same story that had been done before. "Government experiment goes out of control and aliens invade?" - that's a new one, isn't it?

And puzzle solving, buggy and boat driving

So? It's all been done before, and better. Most of the vehicle sections are just an ego trip on behalf of the physics engine anyway.

Doom 3 was a plod fest. Not scary, just annoying.

Your opinion. I actually think that most people just bash Doom 3 because they were (and are) too afraid to play it.

I couldn't bring myself to finish HL1 nor 2. I found their storylines just didn't drag me in and I just wasn't interested. Doom3 on the other hand, had no pretention. It knows it has no story to offer and you know you're only playing it to kill time by shooting things. Good on it I say :D
