Door fitting wtf?!!?

3-4 hours for an unequal opening and hinges etc chopped in? more like 1 hour tops. That's pretty much always exactly what fitting an interior door entails lol.

Just get it done yourself!

I was hitching (autocorrect lol) about the prices rulers were charging.

I had mosaic tiles which come in webbed squares and both sides of the kitchen were pretty much straight runs.

Did it myself and must say I'm fairly happy with it, glass mosaics are a right pain to cut but think I did alright

Like afew others have said, depends on the door, frame and quite afew other headaches. Obviously those prices are high because whoever has quoted didn't want to do them or your overlooking some serious heartache.

Its easy to chuck a door in a frame in an hour, most of the time it looks exactly that.

I can do most DIY jobs. I can do wiring, plumbing, decorating (including pattern matched wallpapering), fitting shelving or other things to walls, and I do it well.

What I can't do, is hang doors. I don't know why, but I suck at it. Maybe it's because this 1930s house has never had a standard sized door, never mind once that's square.

The only way I can hang a door and do a good job, is if I'm fitting the frame as well.
