Same, I just charge in and die.

I'm more of a run in, wreck stuff, and die opposed to playing tactically and retreating, I just get bored :(

Not really a game for me, though I gave 2 people on OcUK keys and they've been using them well, so it makes up for me playing like 3 games and going back to my FPS games :p
 
I only have 1 spare key and it's going to my team. Sorry guys!

I can get more but I'm not high enough to be in the members market so that's a nono.
 
I really want to love this but just dont understand. When fighting I just seem to be wading in treacle compared to everyone else. And people are HARSH about my dota noobness!
 
Yes thats what I was afraid of, I do play LoL but I understand its farming/denying for the first couple of levels or you could get a kill if the noob rushes a tower or summit. I will still be getting this but I hope the community doesnt put me off playing because I really like the looks of it.

Is there any news on a release date for this?

Yup, it's tough at the very start. I can't play by myself atm because I'm so new. Luckily I have a good friend who I've been playing TF2 with for over a year that's very good at Dota. So when I play with him I can ask him things mid game, like what to buy, what to skill first on this hero, what I should be doing now etc. The game is becoming less and less scary every time I watch or play it. :p

They're pretty long, but now I have full understanding of the shop which makes things a lot easier. Also, just watching videos of that guy playing heroes is super helpful. He explains what to buy and how to play the heroes very well.
 
Haven't read much of the thread but just wanted to say a few things.

1) Dota 2 is amazing :O

2) Join dota do some great shout casts and they are highly energetic, well worth the watch.

3) Just read through the legal proceedings of blizzard sueing valve and well we aren't going to be seeing dota 2 till april next year at the earliest as they will still be in court till at least then.
 
Winning the beta key on that ocuk thread was one of the best things to happen in ages as I never knew just how awesome dota was :O. Can't put it down haha. Shame the game isn't going to be around for a long time now because of blizzard :(

Who has made a decision or even suggested there is a chance it will disappear lawfully?

It won't dissapear. Valve have one of the original DotAs creators on their side.

Anyhow, I'm playing DotA2 quite a lot since I got it a few days ago. If anyone wants to play any add me on steam (KurisuViBritannia)
